Actually it is a workhorse for many pro. The range is very nice, although many ppls is talking about 14-24 and 24-70.
I would go for 17-35 instead, because i wouldn't get 14-24 because it can't mount filter.
To me, 24-70 is just an expensive kit lens, I would prefer using a prime for that range, unless i'm doing AD wedding photography.
When using that range, focusing is not a problem cos a bit off also can tahan ... and for WORK, I usually stop down to f/5.6 - f/8.
BUT I have to admit that if I'm going to do what I did at the foam thing, AF is crucial.

I am also seriously considering the Sigma 12-24 (the ONLY 3rd party UWA I can use! ARRRGHHH!) replacing my current lens since I tend to almost always use the wide end. Mabbie out of 1,000 shots, you see me using anything above 24mm for 10 or 20 shots.
