CHEERS!

Good morning...

too stoned to go shooting...

I couldn't sleep properly last night.
There was an accident in my area last night where a reversing car overshot its slot and went into a courtyard; running over two teenagers.
The boy was pinned under the car and pronounced doa by the paramedics.
The girl hopefully should be alright. Its kinda disappointing that the public would not step forward to help. They stood around watching and stuff.
I hope he rests in peace.

Call me a cynic, but it doesn't surprise me the least that nobody went forward to help. And these same people are the ones who will bother to go down to kaypoh at funerals that make the news, like the recent one of the Singaporean who was murdered in Mumbai, or that of the NS man who passed away earlier this year. You'll see hundreds of strangers, purportedly there to "pay their respects"..

ok rant off.

I hope his family finds closure in this matter. To suddenly lose your child in such an abrupt manner....

Sorry to hear about the misadventure in your neighbourhood Tainted.

Yes it is disturbing ... and yes, it is very very sad that Singaporeans are like that. I'm not sure what are the main causative factors, because it's better and yet worse in other countries, in different ways, but in Singapore, basically it's every man for himself. Lovely, gracious, warm and friendly country we live in.

Having said that, Singaporeans nowadays have so little first-hand knowledge and experience in first-aid matters that essentially, if you're lying there bleeding to death on the road, or stop breathing, chances are no one would know what to do.

Not only are we this incapacitated, but guess what? No one wants to even talk about it. I'll wager a bet that even here in this thread ... just observe how quickly all this will 'dissappear'.

I don't know if this is any consolation, but at least he died quickly. It could have been a lifetime of suffering mentally and physically if he were crippled and/or brain damaged.
