It's a Singaporean thing, really. Without going into too much detail (because i'm supposed to be working, I have a ton of things that were due an hour ago, and i shouldn't be here), I understand what you mean. Just looking at any of the threads here that have had some form or other of conflict and you can see this occuring.

But in this case, having known RO-RO(lol i can't believe i'm saying this) for more than 2 years, I can safely say I know him to a certain extent. And from what I know of him, he said what he did in the manner he did because he simply doesn't say things straight to the face. He implies, gets you to infer, and conveys his message without explicitly saying it. Of course, it doesn't always work out. I think, no I believe, he said it in this manner as he felt it would be more appropriate than to bluntly say that "somethings shouldn't be aired in a public forum" as it would seem as though he was doubting the intentions/integrity of any of the Exposers here.

Ok this is the chapalang version, i have to go back and chiong that stupid $7+k powerpoint I'm supposed to be doing. Pardon any typos/mistakes.

of course, maybe he just didn't realise that was the message it implied (that it was a platform for denial), cause i didn't realise of it either until you said it. haha maybe i'm just slow.

If that's the case, I'll be direct and honest by saying that it's a game that's not only dangerous, but wastes a lot of time and causes a lot of problems in LIFE!!!

It's simply not KEWL.

He could have easily said something like,

"Don't worry too much Van because dwelling on it (here or anywhere else) might not solve anything. Take a break! Have some fun and talk about things that make you feel happy like BJs and FOOD!"

That would have been crystal clear, and not offend anyone!

AGAIN, Please let me emphasize that I AM NOT NOT NOT hitting on Ro-Ro!!! It's just that what happened proves how dangerous and very misleading this game of hints and inferences can be, and has been proven to cause tons of problems and disagreements during discussions.

Something which is usually totally unnecessary and can be avoided if only people just communicated clearly.

There's a time to fool around, (which we all simply luub to do here), and there's a time AND place to be clear and serious.

hmmm touche. Well i must agree that inferences and implied meanings have caused me a great degree of grief before. Unfortunately its very much a part of the culture here (Singapore) and its occassionally difficult for me to remember not to fall into that temptation.
