Nurses? Needles? Poke us? Butts? No enter room so do it in the halls and corridors? OOUUUUUU!!!!!!!

Okay, this is a sensitive area - ICU mah. So everyone has to take a number to get poked by the nurses and yu all better exercise restraint, like Geee-Babieeee even tho he wants to touchy-feelieee the grandma!!!

OK GUYS - UPDATE.

Van says a great BIIIIG THANKS from the bottom of her , but she needs the privacy right now.

Let's just offer our support here on the thread, and if yu have her contact, just send her a quiet note of friendship and reassurance.

There will be NO ORGANISED HOSPITAL VISITS unless the situation changes.

I'm sure someONE will be beri relieved to know that we wun be charging into the hospital 2nite! :bsmilie:

err we can support her without going down to visit the grandma too. dunno if her family will mind us all trooping in to see the grandma (just playing the devil's advocate now)

That's sensitive of yu Vonnn.

The fact is, we dun know the family or grandma.

In absolute truth, we're not visiting the family or grandma lah, and no, why would we want to even enter the room? Not being insensitive, but IF a visit was on, we would only be there physically as a moral form of support for Van.

heehee touchie people eeeeeeeeeee

It a lot better if the well-wishes are made known Zac. No use caring and never letting the other party know. ;)

I have no idea, but that's besides the point.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing is, Van has someone to offer comfort and support her during this difficult time.

Looking back at some of the posts, I'll share why being there physically is so important is such situations.

Simply, NOTHING beats seeing and hearing a person's voice, in the FLESH, and not thru MMS either.

All through out the animal kingdom, TOUCH is a form of communications and caring, or love.

It also offers a very reassuring and potent means for a person to respond to touch. It has healing properties.

Ever hear of Dolphins or Whales constantly rubbing and carassing a fallen comerade, or even a dying one for days ion end. and after days of constant rubbing and caresses, the injured or dying dolphin or whale comes back to life?

That is the power of PHYSICAL TOUCH and presence.

So, in short, while it FEELS nice to know that people care, NOTHING beats being there, PHYSICALLY, for someone in need.

Oh, I'm sure she's already touched by all out touching tok!

Besides, dun know if she will be there on Sat all things considered.

Yu could always touch me first, then I will package it up and post it to her!

Butt jokes aside, yu know how powerful a friend's arm on your shoulder when yr feeling real bad, or how a pat on the back can feel right? I dun know why Asians are so bloody averse to touch. Even yr SUUPER macho BS jocks and redneck Caucasians tend to hug, slap each other on the back and put an arm around the shoulders of a depressed friend. We depriv ourselve so much...SIGHZZZ.
