Nikon ones have a protruding front element. So it's not suitable for quite a couple of lenses. The Kenko ones are almost good for all the lenses.

Ya, so my kenko TCs are solely for my macro and nikon are for birds.

For nikon zoom lenses, only 70-200 & 200-400 can accept both TCII or TCIII.
