these 2 days weather is fabulous.
i wonder how the sunset was yesterday. anyone saw?
Hi Leong, thats a beautiful image. Was that a 300/2.8 that you used or a 400? hope you dont mind me ask.
Me poor man......only use 300mmf/4........
My dream will be either a 400mmf2.8 or 500mmf/4......
huh, 300mm prime is still a dream lens for many. And yes, the 500 range is beautiful but not so easy to handle due to size, weight and focal length. I had seen a caucasian with two 600mm with him (one sling on and the other on his hand). He was a huge and muscular man, and i supposed weight was not really an issue for him.
I dunno what he was shooting, but I thought he was really serious into photography.
If one can go to F1, I think the 300 F4 would be good enough from the grandstand.
It is always good to start off with a 300mmf/4 or 400mm/f5.6 then go longer and bigger as experience go by.
Having a long lens means need more skill to target the subject and handle/moving around.
But the hunger for longer lens is so attractive: reach, isolation of background, more eye-level shots and sharpness.
But, i will stick with my 300mmf/4 for a couple more years for casual shooting and focus on my macro-photography.
I think you can start a class with your current skill level for macro.
Yes, long lenses is not easy to handle. i shot with 85 1.2 for weddings. it was really difficult to handle given the tight framing and stability. I scaled down to 50 1.2 as a result.
Above all, i still love my contax. I have a spare zeiss 60 2.8 (Japan made). you want to try?
super nice pphototototoo![]()
Thanks.
Today didn't shoot birds, shoot macro instead.
