Well, well that's only part of the reason. The other two reason is that, I would consider an economist as a fairly safe job with good job sercurity, especially in bad times. Think abt it... No matter how good or bad the economy is, no country/bank can do without one. And that's all becoz of one word, greed.

When the economy is doing badly, naturally they need economist to stratergize and bring the economy back into shape.

When the economy is doing good, that's when the greed factor comes in. Notice that the SG economy is typically pushing for a 5% per annum growth rate? That's just greed, its a human nature....

The other reason is, haha, that's probably the only module which i'm really interested in(in school) and probably the only subject which I truly understand without any help from lecturers.... Yes, I tend to sleep during lectures and heck care tutorials. I do alot of self study. Tutorials in my opinion is a total waste of my time. Haha, but lets not go into that...

But most importantly, I have discovered over the years that there is no such thing called favourite module/subject. I love whatever i can do well in... and economics is one of them

i am reading economics, actually. i didn't do it in jc, but the syllabus was quite different, apparently, so it wasn't that bad.

btw, i think most economists were just as clueless this time round.. :sweatsm:

I mean, just look at his rescue package.... I wondered if he did use his brains before the decision.... Despite all the warnings from whitehouse's economists on the sustainability of such a rescue package, he juz went on.....

IMHO, he's taking a very huge gamble, one which could throw him out of office if things goes wrong....
