I don't mind repeats. I am one very excited kitty mommy.![]()
no lah, i always just eat the store where there is no quene.
Well one thing i realised about duck rice is it depends on your luck.
First of all, the ducks are roasted elsewhere, so it really may not be the freshest. if kept for a while, they freeze them and reheat them and that is where the inconsistency results.
For the stall i mentioned, they are generally good, though the last try i had 4 days ago was a lil stiff. But the queue formation for ta pao is there after 6pm and on weekends.
unfortunately i cant recall the shop name. it is quite unglam looking, with a few rows of table inside and a fridge full of self help drinks on one side. more like an old coffee shop.
even 933 can taste good on certain days and lousy on certain days. perhaps you really have to know the boss.
for most rosted stuff if kept in the fridge, the technique is to thaw it first and then run hot oil from a wok before serving. it will make the skin crispy without overcooking the inside further. i learnt this from a seasoned chinese chef whose family recipe is in roasted poultry meat.
:embrass: :embrass:
You were looking while I was like ... err ... yeah ... SPRAWLED!
Coming to think about it...difficult to let go of my 24 TSE because it's a very useful focal length, so can't sell, top up and buy 17 which was the brilliant idea that came to mind a few moments ago. SIGH ...
hai hai Contax!![]()
if i may suggest, trade that for 24 f1.4. I found it a lot more fun to use given its well controlled distortion and the thin dof it can give compared to the f3.5
i can pass u my 1.4 to play play.... but one condition though... dont shoot me :bsmilie:
but your 24 tse is a purpose built lens. you should be able to find a buyer for it lah. sell it fast...
as for 17 tse, i am really not sure if it is all that fun to go super wide wide for so many shots. being tse, distortion should be well contained, but on a ff, i am really not sure.... any slight tilt on the levelling bubble, your distortion may kick right in.
thanks thanks... at least you are more kind to call me contax.. people call me ultra interesting names here :bsmilie:
Hmm ... interesting. I guess business got so good that even the roasting became decentralised. Did you know that the same thing happens in Tung Lok's fine dining restaurants? They have a centralised factory kitchen concept now, and we pay super premium prices for food not cooked ala minuete.![]()
Well, TL group... no comments LOL its about making money and branding. esp lao BJ, they serve chinese fast food and the target is executives who has little time to spare for a proper meal if you realised.
like i said, whether TLG, CJ, whatever fancy rest names there are, its about the chef. They can have a three days old meat and a freshly cooked one. when they put on the table, you are not supposed to taste the difference! if you can, they failed miserably as a known chef. check out peking duck... do you believe they roast on demand? hell no.
Hey! It would be really interesting to see how your 24 stacks up against a Zuiko 24mil I have that's supposed to be a 24L killer. I promise I won't shoot you ... hmm, mabbie just your back sai? :bsmilie:
Yeah, 3.5 is a BEETCH especially when I tilt in low light as the deeper DOFocus sometimes fools the EAF as well. Someone in another thread rumored that the new 24 TSE would be 2.8. Ah well, too bad.
I think a 17mm TSE would be a dream come true, at least for me, but I can see it being a bit more difficult to use on a FF for an archi tog. I suspect it might fare better on an APS-H sensor.
But butt buttt donch yuu laik it? :sweatsm:
No worries, i just pass you anytime... just remember to use it and not chuck in dry cab:bsmilie:
i have the 90 ts also... but its a really old pc of sheet though lol
as for 17mm, honestly, i wont get it. i would rather use the 24 and do a proper stitch using software.. going 17, it really has limited use as i would rather use a fish eye for fun shots and a 24 for something really serious.
That does make sense, but I did notice a slight drop in the food standards on the whole over a period of time. Most people won't know the difference, and I noticed it BEFORE I found out about their centralised kitchen ops. At any rate, I stopped going to TLG for ages now. All $$$ goes towards SSS so that later can BBB! :bsmilie:
pearl pearl likes it... so, she win :bsmilie:
Hahaha! I was trying to buy a used 90 TSE not too long ago, but it had been reserved. Perhaps that was a blessing in disguise, because for the price, I can get a good cond 4" x 5" set-up. What happended to your 90TSE?
I don't think the 17 would be good for stitching. I'm sure in the brilliant minds of Canon's designers and marketeers, they probably deem a 17 as sufficient for everyone's archi and interior needs and wouldn''t envision anyone *GASP HORRORS* stitching from the 17.
Sure thing. Just let me know when you're free and we can catch up for kopi!![]()
