it is always a give and take.
if one cares about others' perceived hate, then definitely a compromise can be reached. there is nothing that cannot be loved; there is nothing that cannot be hated. it is all in one's state of mind. even a leper can be loved, even a saint can be hated.
you sound troubled by this state of affairs.. but one can only control himself/herself..it's as simple as that. if you care, then reach out. if you don't, then ignore.
A young but wise person once sent me a message ... warning me about how caring can also drag me down ... I think I don't have the energy to be involed with people who would rather choose animosity and spite over other options in life.

Just watch the editing. The water is a bit blown - pull back the highlights till you get some details in the water, then increase the mids, and finally decrease the shadows a BIT to increase the saturation. Err ... use levels.
