Hi guys,

I have done my first time lapse video with 5D but somehow Im not too satisfied with the results. It kinds of flicker and only towards the end, it stops flickering.

Anybody knows what seems to be the problem? Please advise me...

The video link is as follows:

http://vimeo.com/22389264

the common causes of flickering are either the aperture or shutter speed,
the aperture close and open each time when making a exposure, so are the shutter speed, each time it will not be exactly the same, slight deviation even like 0.5% will cause the exposure to be fluctuate, this is more pronoun when using high shutter speed like 1/125 and above or small aperture f8 and smaller.

this can be fix at the post, Google deflicker filter, some is free some is very expensive some don't have, depends on what software you use to compile your timelapse clip.

hope this help.

Cool... thanks for the advise. I will try it out and see the results again.

Hi Catchlights, I have downloaded the Google Deflicker plugin... And I reckon it's a filter for VirtualDub. So I DL VD as well, but from there on, Im clueless.

I did my vid in premiere CS5, and it's a MPEG-2 file. How do I use the deflicker filter to it?
Can you advise?

Hi,

Thanks for the link. I managed to set my images sequence inside VD, but I keep getting error for loading the deflicker fliter.

My OS is win 7 64 bit. Is that the reason why the filter can't work?

I got it already... after much trial and errors... apparently, in all cases, it's best to install VD 32bit.. even though Im using a 64 bit OS:)

Thanks for the guidance..
