Great perspective :) So many BnW these days!

Thanks bro. I combined your Barrage and Worlds Meet photos for that shot.

My schedule reshuffled so I only get to shoot during early afternoons now, which automatically means b&w for me. :)

My aim is to take photos that make people think where they were taken. Glad to know it's working :)

Thanks Manita..

My first time going to East Coast Park. It's a minimalist haven! (minus the sea vessels, of course)

I like this! It's the kind of shot which catches my attention. Would prefer if it is even more symmetrical as some of the pillars seem to cause it to lose a bit of symmetrical feel. But perhaps that's what u could only make do with. :)

Thanks bro. This is actually the last from the batch that I processed. Had second thoughts on posting it because I didn't like it at first, but I'm glad I did. The look kinda grows on me by the day lol.

For some reason, some of the pillars are naturally skewed. Could be because of the force of the waves? I don't know. But yea, a tiny bit more to the right and I could have had better framing.

Love all your shots. how do you develop the eye for composition? You make ordinary things look so interesting!

Thanks a lot. :)

Honestly speaking, I don't exactly know how one can develop an eye for composition. But my take is it's like learning to play the guitar. What drives you to pick the instrument up could be Jimi Hendrix, or Tuck Andress, or Diamond Darrell, but whoever it is, you have been inspired and you try to play what they play. After that, it will be a matter of how far you want yourself to go.

Musicians are like photographers, and in photography, I think one has to immerse himself to other photographers' work. Study how they compose their shots. Pick each style or pattern you admire most and throw away those you don't like. Mix and match these styles to develop your own. Lastly, apply, apply, and apply.

With a lot of inspiration, perseverance and practice, the positioning of the elements will become second nature. Everything will line up in your mind automatically. Overthinking is part of the learning process (we're not perfect), but pretty soon it will be there no more. It will all become very fluid and natural that all you will be thinking is what you're going to have for dinner after the shoot. :)

Now for the 'not-so-cheem' part: Familiarise yourself with the rule of thirds and the golden ratio. :P
