Every picture tells a story

Hi Jeff,

Really appreciate your interest in our backyard, unlike your land with its natural creeks and water supply. Our's more like drains and sewage (newater aka nu water in your accent).

I dread the day we worry about our water supply, hopefully in future, membrane and desalination technology will mitigate that. Fresh water is definitely a global concern in the future.

Have a good weekend sir!

Coincidentally, this report was in today's Straits Times.

tk[/SIZE]

Thanks for that link sir.

Remember my story about the creek and dam at my house? That was artificially created. One thing I find hard to wrap my mind around is how come more of these types of projects aren't done in your country? Or maybe they are and I have just not learned about it yet? Seems I have read something about Singapore creating new reservoirs?

I caught the election fever.

One of those epidemic that affects all in the democratic world every 4 to 5 years.

One of the first symptoms of election fever is the inability to focus on non election issues, hence i will come back to finish the previous story later.

I will describe the signs and symptoms of this condition as it is revealed to me, it is my first election fever afterall and i am not sure what to look out for.

The first sign.

1.Follow the light.

As night falls, we develop this urge to seek out and follow the light.

Hi Jeff,

One simple reason "No land".

We can but we only have a land area of about 700sq km.
Your state's largest Lake Eufaula will probably cover half of Singapore.
I have enclosed a publication by our Public Ultilities Board for your reading pleasure.

My apologies for interrupting your story sir. Thanks for PUB link.

Look at this... http://news.asiaone.com/news/singapore/study-spores-water-risks-wrong

Debunking the propaganda. Let's hope this article more genuinely reflects the state of affairs concerning water supplies (at least in SP). Sounds reasonable to me. A glass half full way of looking at it! :) And it is true - more rainwater catchments.

Another sign.

2. Hyperactive hands.

The hands became an extension of our expressions.

Thanks a lot Jeff for the link, good to know, can never be too complacent. Wars in future could be fought over fresh water.

3. The mind is challenged.

Perception?

Reality?

Exciting looking snaps sir. Lots of energy.

At least the police don't have to carry around H&K's or M4 Assault weapons wearing body armor.

Thanks to a few successful "phototherapy" sessions. My election fever is gradually subsiding.

Hi vaevictis, thanks for dropping by and glad that you enjoyed my take on the elections. There is more to come, it is just a bit harder to make up a story on election.

And they walked among us.

The performance Spark! by the World Beaters Music got every one into the rhythm of the night. The LED lit drummers led everyone thru the Bras Basah precinct with their rousing drum beats.

My other favorite display was the wire frame birds perching on the tree outside the National Museum, so surreal. (i made a double exposure of it with the pavement for the previous Seventh Month story). And I thoroughly enjoyed the Inuits running amok across the Museum's facade.

That wrapped up the series on "They walk among us".

Coming up next will be "Follow the light".

Follow the light.

5.Fever.

What would an election fever be without fever.

On the last night, excitement reached a fever pitch especially for those who followed the light and gathered at football pitches, fields.

As in all medical conditions, having realised the signs and symptoms what comes next will be assessments and evaluation followed by treatment , healing and hopefully the cure.

Assessments.

21460482793_97f17b8193_o.jpg

Evaluation.

Following that it was time to go home to sleep it off. Options were to be considered and decisions made.

Given the outcome hopefully  it will be followed by healing for some.

In hind sight, deeds trumped rhetoric and the hidden power of the silent majority in a democracy rose from its slumber.
Moving forward policies may take on a more people centric approach and voters to temper their expectations in a competitive world.

And finally the cure.
21466012783_7d9f4d1ee1_h.jpg

I saw n felt some prints made on baryta rag paper, i was poisoned "deep deep". On this paper the night lights...glowed. Could be it is textured and reflected light differently.

The a3 print (normal paper)of the stadium crowd was to test my printer for print resolution of my a7r +nikkor 50mm f1.4. Faces could be identified. They both passed the pixel peeping test.

I am totally cured of my election fever but got bitten by the panoramic bug.

Hi Stephen,
This one is for you, i hope you will like this story.

Teng, forever the superb yarn spinner haha. Looking forward to your stories every time. :)

Stop press!
More unexpected encounters! This was from last night

Driving down the car park after an evening at Kusu, my friend mentioned to stop for a shot of a beautiful night scene of our ports. I was like "sure, i'll wait in the car" (after all my gears were all kept in the back). Luckily he hauled my ass out of the car.

It was the most productive 6 minutes of my photography journey.

Le park ( a local slang for relaxing)

The elusive dragon captured!

I had been on the lookout for this mighty beast since it eluded me last wed night at the Nine Emperor Gods Festival.
6 minutes well spent.

Thank you very much!I look forward to your stories.
