hi 'ahboyboy'...
Usually you can tell the experienced shooters apart, by the way they handle their equipment.
They will usually appear very confident and work quickly, like it's second nature to them.

Stand near them but don't get in their way first. Try to sneak a peek at what kind of settings they use. Usually if they use more serious cams, there will be a top LCD display, so you might be able to sneak a peek at their settings. Let them shoot a few shots first. When they look more relaxed, you may ask away... :)

hope that helps!

Wah... Sorry for not "recognizing" the masters and experts coming for the shoot this evening. Anyway, I am also a relatively new noob but I am willing to share with you my settings and all. See you later.

Ah, which cheeky sod put that tag next to my nick? I's not master... just someone who's been shooting a bit longer than most.

Ok I'm jumping the gun a bit. I'm at the garden top and going to start with the photography. I'm in a red shirt, and carrying a tripod around.

Thanks to Andy for organising this outing. I had fun :)

Not true :)

4. dingaroo (expert) It isn't true!!! So what you put is in fact false, which is true! Got it?
hahahahahahahaha :bsmilie:

PS: Hmmmm.... when did I get promoted to export ... just got my 500D for only 3 months! Zerocool ... you way too cool for me .... hehehehehe

Hi guys,

Dingo here. Sorry didn't talk to everyone. But hoped everyone had a great time.

It was my wife's first photo outing with me so she was curious and giving advice at same time!!! (She the EXPERT one! lol) Guess she's gotten the bug already. Maybe shopping for a new camera soon. Hope something new comes out soon ... no way am I getting the 1D Mk IV!

Hope to see your pictures soon!

Hey Ding,

Thanks for showing up. Hope you and your wife got some nice pics too!

To the rest who showed up, Jimjo, Ahboyboy, Neech (who coincidentally lives 2 blocks away from me), YSLee, hope you all had a fairly good evening with great pics. Please post some to share.

Cheers!

The cheeky sod would be me!! :)
Hope you guys had fun. Looking forward to see the pics.

this thread is not for you to post pictures...
It was meant to gather attendance for the (already over) marina barrage outing.
I guess the TS forgot to close the thread.

Anyway, in your photo, the water in the reservoir should all be spilling out of the right side of the photo... ~hint hint~

Oops, sorry, wrong place to post... I thought I saw many photos posted there so..
If TS insists I take them down, will do so gladly.

BTW, what do you mean by the water spilling out....... catch no ball. Care to explain. Tks.

The horizon is not horizontal. The right side of the photo is a fair bit lower than the left. So, by the force of gravity, all the water should be flowing out the right side like a waterfall :)
