If you are in Germany, get the M9. Price w/o VAT is Euro 4618. Given the current exchange rate , 1.78, this works out to be S$8,220. However, the Euro is expected to depreciate further and some analysts expect it will reach parity with the USD by the end of the year!

wow that is really a good deal! where in germany? i'll be over in amsterdam for 6 months on student exchange. how about other cameras especially the M6? if i don't spend too much on grass i might be able to pull together some cash!

saw this here. not sure reliable. most are out of stock. need to pay,wait for shipping once stock in. problem is if ship in will incur GST though technically saving is still a lot compare to 11.3k locally.

Have a look at the list of European Leica dealers here, http://www.nemeng.com/leica/004e.shtml. The Euro is now at 1.71. The UK price is attractive as well with the pound at 2.01. But I am not certain if you can get VAT refund on used camera. My experience has been with new camera and lenses.

if buying as an individual, best way to enjoy this is to buy it in EU, request for a VAT refund form with your order, get it stamped and collect the rebate in cash upon departing the EU custom. Most local shipping costs is especially attractive if delivered to the same country, most will offer FoC for self pick up if its retail store is near ur residence, why not?

But if your foreign company is operating within EU, you can order your item VAT free but you will need to provide proof of ur entity aka export set procedure. Still if you're not there, you will need to have it shipped back to you and incur the costs listed below.

ordering it from here and have it shipped here is less attractive basing on perceived favourable rate, you still have to pay VAT, shipping (it's really ex!) and possbility of paying GST again here!

Even if u are there by chance (best), you still need to face the fact that many are offering it as 'pre-order' aka, "pay first and wait/pray"...
