so little ah

In the states, D200 are flying off the shelves at a lower price. Darn, why are asia ones sold at a premium? :dunno:

Good news is... it seems that earliest will be next tuesday (19th) for the first shipment

And bad news is... there won't be another shipment till Feb/March.

This is good news for me. At least got to keep my bonuses till March. :bsmilie:

Rofl!!!!! For the time being only... unless u have spent yr bonus on something else instead :bsmilie:

I counted 45 pcs in the 7 shops I went today, all marked for preorders along with the 18-200vr, which not surprisingly has only about 20 pcs in all.

He is buying a grey set. It's not from Taiwan but from somewhere else. He'll have to pay each time he needs to clean CCD. If spoiled he has to sent it back to Taiwan. Not worth it.

Price will come down eventually. Competition is hot in US, that's why. :)

thanks espn... any idea if initial quantity will be big?
Bro, was at MS Colour today and she said the D200 will be launched tomorrow Sat 17 Dec, but they will probably have the stocks to sell by Monday 19 Dec. She doesn't know the price yet but guesses the body alone would cost between $2,500 to $3,000.
The quantity issue is a little touchy. She said she has to order 10 x D50 in order to be eligible to order 1 x D200. Whah, never knew Nikon resorts to such tactics.
She has ordered 5 sets for a start, which also means she is now well stocked with D50's. Those who want the D200 can give your names to reserve. Already some names on the list, so whoever wants.....1st come 1st serve!!

I can hardly believe that Nikon would use such a tactic. Prob a joke that was taken too serious.

Malaysia price..

Selling price:
1. Nikon D200 = RSP RM 6888
2. AF-S DX VR 18-200mm = RSP RM 3080
3. R1C1 Speedlight Commander Kit = RSP RM 2888
4. R1 Kit wo SU-800 = RSP RM 1988

I've been reading about some US shop and that when the delivery truck that came with the D200, it went from the delivery truck straight to the customers and the shop cannot even open a demo set.

Looks like the D200 is very hot now.

It's Christmas.....plus this launch is always a hot thing anywhere in the world.

3 months down the road, it's back to reality. Although I am a full fledge Nikon user, D200 will still be one grade lower than a full frame Canon 5D.

Once you get use to 1.5x and 2x crop factor .... U will find hard to go back to FF ... :sweatsm: how come suddenly u got to go the extra mile to take that images ... :bsmilie:

:what:

It really is a big diff. I have tested it the Canon 5D and I have to say they are still ahead compared to the new D200. As I said, I will still stick to Nikon products but in terms of technology Canon is still a leader.

:what:

don't care abt FF or not. if nikon comes out with FF, i'll feel the same. jus change the shooting habit slightly.

anyway, invested too much in Nikkors and the likes to consider changing system just for the FF and the 'supposedly one rung higher' rating.
