Essential Lens to buy

AF-S Micro PC-E 10-600mm F1.4G ED VR II IF NCC SIC SWM and a switch to change to fisheye mode. Size of front lens element can be changed with a dial to suit any size of filters, and mount can easily be unscrewed and changed to suit any mounts. Hmm... Did I leave out anything?

Yeah. Nano Crystal Coating. I remember seeing it written as NC too though

VR II is too old. By the time this kind of lenses becomes realistic, it should be VR X.

Up to you and your style. Some use their 18-55 kit. Others use a 35mm. Or a 50mm. Or a 85mm. Or a 135mm. Or a 70-200. Or a 75-300. Or a 70-400.

I think you know what I'm trying to say - use the lens that suits your style and your needs.

i see i see thanks!

Rashkae already replied.

depends on your style.

Are you the gungho type of street shooter where u walk up to your subjects and shoot point blank? - any wide angle or 50mm (myself I prefer 35mm)

Are you the shy type of street shooter who prefers to shoot from far without your subject knowing? - 85mm or any zoom lens longer then 85mm (sometimes depending on situation, I will use my 200mm)

Guess not. By that time you just click a button on the lens and a tripod will appear at the bottom, already of just the right height. Okay maybe a little far fetched

just want to see everyone's thoughts

What are the lens that you will/must buy and what are the lens that you will rent?

regards

I see in future all i be having is a Panasonic PnS with HD video and everything else just rent from camerarental.

There you'll see dfferent people need different lenses! Few similarities.

You must decide on lenses according to your requirement, what kind of photography you intend to do!

DC == "Defocus Control"

I thought that's Canon or Sigma... Nvm seems like I got messed up on this one. Anyway that lens has perfect focus so there's no need for that I guess. It works like a rangefinder, except the lens does the reading

Isn't DC a tool for creative blur than getting perfect focus?

DC is used to control the quality of bokeh. nothing to do with focus.

70-200 f2.8 or 80-200 f2.8 will buy..

no plan to rent any

I don't know. It sounds like a tool for focus rather than blur XD

If my budget was unlimited, must-buy lenses would be every lens that has ever been made. For my lens museum. It would take quite a few years, but eventually I'd get pretty close.
Meanwhile, I'm quite satisfied with my 17-85, 50 1.8, 55-250. Planning to get a 30 1.4, for my crop body. (My lens "collection consists of new and used, spent a total of around $850-900. Hope this helps.
