rather get an Xpan kit or a M6 35lux for $4500.

wonder how is the sales ?

RD-1 being 1.5x crop factor and no support technical support here are two reasons why I wouldn't think about getting it. Moreover, you can be dead sure leica will come out with their own digital RF that will cause ebay to be flooded with RD-1.

Price wise, think about the price when Canon D30 first came out, that was around $4.5k too actually...new tech comes with high price.

Well, there is no Leica digital for the M series yet.......even the R digital is delayed (Digital back alone without camera is approx $10,000 Euro). And I already have quite a few film M bodies, Xpans, etc........like I said it's just to have a digital use for Leica M lenses.

Many happy users out there so far...

Give that another 30 years before they can come out with a digital RF that can simulate the different B&W film from Technical Pan to Delta 3200, as well as the different results based on your selection of developer like D76 or tmax or Rodinal.

By then, my eyesight might be too poor to use RFs! :bsmilie:

Instead of waiting.....I'll take instant (minor) gratification with my R-D1 now.........

Bought mine in HK, about $23,000HKD, S$4500 at that time. Now I can use almost alll my M mount lenses on a digital body......

BTW it is almost impossible to mail order from Yodo unless your name is Japanese...otherwise the site does not allow you to input most non-Japanese names......even the vpost japan address gives problems.

any chance of showcasing your images here and share them with us?

Tried various ways to upload to CS gallery - but the 100K limit is a little difficult to estimate and the final uploaded pics have lost quite a bit of original quality.
