hihi. apparently the performances start at 5pm, just got a writeup from esplanade.

the official opening (which takes place in front of the music hall entrance-that's the one you took, CK) starts at 7.30, and lasts only 15 minutes.

All performances will end at 1015pm.Then there's a party all the way from 1045 (after pyrotechnics) till 1am.

As in outside and the vicinity of the esplanade (like near the merlions) or are invites and passes required?

PROGRAMME

Fiesta ! (5.00 pm - 10.15 pm)
The festivities begin at 5.00 pm with Fiesta !, a rousing carnival along the Esplanade Waterfront to welcome one and all to Singapore's new performing arts centre. Artists from Singapore and around the world will entertain and enthrall audiences with a variety of acts.


Official Opening Ceremony (7.30 pm - 7.45 pm)
Esplanade will be officially opened by President S R Nathan. Marking this momentous occasion is a special ceremony featuring music, dance, theatre and dazzling pyrotechnics.


Reminiscing the Moon (by invitation only)
In the Theatre, the world premiere of Reminiscing the Moon, choreographed and directed by acclaimed Indonesian choreographer Boi Sakti, performed by Singapore Dance Theatre.


Harbour Spectacular (10.15 pm - 10.45 pm)
The celebrations culminate with a scintillating 30-minute show inspired by the space around Esplanade. You may be able to catch this show from your windows, if they face the Bay area ! This unique performance brings together abseiling acrobats Legs on the Wall (Australia), puppeteers Theatre de la Dame de Coeur (Canada) and Groupe F (France), creators of the Eiffel Tower millennium fireworks. The pyrotechnics of these "sculptors of light" illuminate an unfolding story, including choreographed bumboats on the waters of Marina Bay.


Waterfront Party (10.45 pm - 1 am)
Party on till the early morning at the waterfront !

wolfgang, are u referring to the Merlion @ One Fullerton? i think the affected areas are the immediate area in and around Esplanade itself. don't think the exterior spaces are affected much, as there's plenty of performances happening all around.

Ah, I see. No wonder they rehearsed like only 1 item. I thought I was late and missed all the others. I am still interested to know how they did the projection.

Tomorrow will be the final event. As some of us are newbie included me really want to learn how to capture nice fireworks picture. As some of the member who have experienced are welling to share. In such, since OCEANXP has start the gathering event. Let's make this happen.
