Anyone has any comments on the Epson RD-1 / Leica M lenses combo ?
How's the results, handling etc ?
Which shop in SG has this in stock and approx price ?

Hmmmm, I think Terence has started a thread here indicating that there isn't a shop here selling it.

I got quoted a HK $19,000 for one. Didn't get it though.

Good luck!

I know of at least 2 R-D1 owners who frequent the RF threads. Perhaps they can contribute their personal experiences.

I'm tempted to get one but am still a bit hesitant becos of its price and crop factor. Not to mention all the issues with hot pixels, rangefinder calibration, viewfinder misalignment etc...

Epson Singapore has no intention of bringing in this camera. I believe it got to do with the issue of servicing it in Singapore.

Any idea which neighbouring country is it available ? How about HK ?

Think only HK is the closest place to get the R-D1. Epson Singapore is the regional office for SE Asia, India and Oceanic Pacific. If they are not bringing in, doubt you can get it from any of thees countries.

At almost SGD$4000. Ask Dr Yao. He's selling them. ;)

Hmm.. my budget only allows me to get either the M6TTL or this unusual creature. Purist or geekish - can't decide which way to go and not sure what I want

go for the M6ttl then... at least its value would hold better...

your budget must be very flexible then. For 4k one could get a used M7/MP quite easily.

I don't think the 2 cams are quite on par in terms of price. I think there's a price gap of approximately $1000 between the 2. A used M7/MP, as Szekiat pointed out, would probably be more of a price match. But with the impending Jul 1 Leica price increase, that gap might widen.

Can't decide, get both! You can always sell me the R-D1.
