Our Regional Marketing division for Digital Image is still assessing on this model. The climate reason may not be true.

However, we are unable to confirm the launch date pending the evaluation & decision of our Regional Marketing division. We can update you at a later stage once affirmation is made.

We are keeping track of customers’ inquiries on their interest in Stylus R800 printer. Thus, we will update customers when result is available.

Standard marketing and PR talk. ;)

I believe they have their reasons for not bringing them in. As much as I like the R800, but if there are "climatic" issues, I'll rather not have it. :)

But the point is, if Epson are communicating that a decision has not been reached and the climate issue cannot be confirmed, why is it that people on this forum are saying it's confirmed that the R800 won't be available in Singapore?

Decision not made on a print that is out for like 7-9 months overseas? Please  .

The print was available in US, UK since Sept/Oct, AU since Jan or Feb. In 3-6 months time, a new model will be out. Then what?

The R210/R200, R310/R300 was out about the same time world-wide. Give me a good reason why they can't make up their wonderful mind > 1 year. I mean, the equivalent product was already out in Japan > 1.5 years ago and scheduled to come out for quite some time.

I had talked to a IT shop guy who asked Epson the reason. That was what I was told. Put it this way, will they tell you that their inks are not suitable for SG? It will impact their reputation of the company. I guess they are in the process of reformulating it to be more suitable...

To be honest, I would love to be proven wrong and that Epson does come out with it. I had been waiting for it for quite time and had mentioned that it would be my next printer 9 months ago...

Another update from Epson:

The latest check with our Regional Marketing division - the Stylus R800 will be launched in Singapore by end of the year or beginning next year.

So there you have it, the R800 is coming to Singapore.
