how about in the 3k region??? :embrass:
oh to clarify just in case, me not the seller, maybe you want to approach the seller to bargain via yahoo instead?
Just happen to see this, so post.
:D

Buy at your own risk.

Just look at those guys who owned the Nikon D1x, they have to sell at around $4,600 after half a year only due to the introduction of D2H. Most of them bought at around $7000++.

Similarly, Canon would be introudcing a new model next year and the price could be even cheaper than 1D. Therefore, I would advocate you guys to hold on your bullets till next year to see what is Canon next move. :dunno:

Just my 2 cents. :D

just my 2 cents...

IMHO no point wait till next year if you need the camera now, provided the price is right to you and the features in the camera suit your needs.

as the technology is ever changing.. next year canon/nikon may come out wth better models, and so would the following year, n so on n so on...

just like when i was bout to buy my eos300d.. ppl told me wait till next year, nikon will release d70.. i was thinking, if i wait, that means i would delay my exposure to dslr by another 9-12 mths.. n to me it wasn't worth it.. :-)

this guy is selling a unit bought from USA. no warranty. USA is selling at around S$5000. not worthwhile getting from this guy.

The problem here is other then 1/16000 shutter speed which I don't know what is it used for ...... taking photograph at excuciating bright light (aka the sun directly) on a f/1.0 lens?

The camera possiblity offer no advantage what a camera half it's selling price (aka 10D) can't do ..... so what is the advantage of getting 1D? Moreover, for that price, anyone can get a Nikon D2H .... why get a outdated 1D?

ah now i know why u're call blurblock...hehe :)

btw the 10D was not half the price of the 1D when the 1D was first released.

1D retails for around $8k when it came out in 2001 - and 2 years later, it has exactly the same capabilities as the recently released Nikon D2h - now THAT's troll territory

Not quite the same capabilities, else they'd be dead. The 1D does not have the JFET LBCAST sensor, WiFi capability, iTTL flash, etc etc etc. :D And about $2k cheaper.

Back to the 1/16,000 shutter speed. Imagine this scenario.

Bright day. Sunny f/16 rule says shutter will be 1/ISO at f/16.

Assuming ISO 100. Shutter speed will then be 1/125 (closest full-stop) at f/16. If you wanna shoot your beautiful 85/1.4 or even 50/1.4 @ 1.4, it will then need a shutter speed of 1/16,000.

It's not just for freezing things that fly faster than a bullet. :)

CK

sigh...nvm. FYI: the 1d is still selling around 5.3 on the 2nd hand market. I was just trolling when i said i want to sell. Hehehe.....

8k when it came out? What currency you thinking of?

It was S$9,999 or something like that.

btw, if anyone does secure the 1d for 3k, i'd gladly pay him 3.3k for it. I do need a 2nd body
