EOS M2 announced!!

Anyway.. lets wait for Eos M3... provided this source is reliable... and if is true, it will be rather soon. Maybe this explains why m2 is not brought to sg.

If what was mentioned was true... I am much much more interested in the professional mirrorless camera than the M3. And if it was going to be an FF, I would like to see the lens lineup, I am sure the lenses for the EOS M/ M2/ M3 would not fit for the professional mirrorless camera.

haha... I will only be keen for the professional mirrorless camera unless it meet 2 conditions.

(1) It is a full frame camera
(2) It is as small as EOS M1/2/3, or the most 10% tolerance of bigger in size...

But if it going to be the like the size of Sony A7R/A7, I dun see why I am getting that, coz it is definitely going to be bulky and expensive for the first few version at least. The technology is still not mature either.

I might as well get a Mark II/III or just stick with a M3 than paying an expensive price tag for a less compact professional mirrorless camera...

It somehow defeat the purpose of why EOS M user is buying EOS M than a DSLR.

Of coz, that's just my two cents, it is subjective to every user... cheers :)

Still in HK now. Brought 2 lens here today. Saw that they are still selling the EOS M and price is higher or the same with the price in SG.

Yup. You won't get much benefit from buying brand new camera or new lens in HK or even those normal canon series used lens.
From my observation, its those third party used lens or those top series used lens eg. an used canon L lens, then is cheap at HK.

What you bought?
I eyed on Tamron 17-50mm f2.8, Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 and Sigma 30mm f1.4.
End up I bought Sigma 30mm f1.4 to combo with my EOS-M.

Agreed with what you have said... but do note that if it was a FF... I would want the body to be a little bigger... because the lens is going to be bigger than APS-C lenses... although the flange distance is shorter as there will be a lack of mirror. If the body of the FF camera is as small or slightly bigger than the EOS-M... and the lenses are much bigger... then it will make holding on to the camera abit of a problem.

Actually I am hoping to see pancake lenses lineup for the EOS-M (don't care if it was the M/M2/M3 or the professional mirrorless camera) that will definitely make the entire setup much smaller. And if the AF could keep up... then I am sure the camera will be a good street camera... of course I can always fall back on manual focusing... but I am getting lazy and I am getting slow with age too.

Hi bro, u r exactly right. I brought the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 and the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8. They are better price here. The canon lens is almost the same. Check the price of the Canon 50mm 1.8, they r selling at $122 S$ which is more or less same as SG. I might as well buy in SG and get warrenty.

Do you compare HK price vs SG new grey set price before? Sometimes grey set here is cheaper with 1 year shop warranty...

I brought from a reputated shop in hk. According to them. The tokina n the tamron both have international warrenty. He chop the international warrenty card n ask me to keep the official receipt.

Think the Tamron dealer here, which is GSH don't honors international warranty. Have to pay for it any repair.

Often see ppl saying there international warranty for eg canon, tamron etc (think sigma too). But then international warranty not valid here.
But there are some brand that has international warranty here.

Eg Olympus has international warranty here.

I think everywhere. At least the Olympus bodies and lenses I bought. Same for Pentax. Maybe there are some exceptions.
