I agree.

Nice big viewfinder + new viewfinder display (I suspect this detects focus point shifts when the camera gets tilted off axis - like the old split prism focus but done with electronics). Speedy fps. New AF. Better noise control with increased pixel density thanks to new technology coupled with 1.6x crop factor.

If the above is true, then I think its really a leap forward rather than the slow incremental updates that Canon likes to release.

Canon rumors says it is a 1.45X crop sensor. So pixel density wise, comparable with 500D's 15MP at 1.6X Crop.

What I'm more concern is the sensor high ISO noise control, but they've mentioned that they have some sort of break through in sensor technology that the sensor can gather more light per pixel than the previous design. If the high ISO noise control is on par or slightly lower than the 5D II, I'll be the one on the first queue, ha ha ha. Though the price might be around SGD$2.5~3K.

Last time when the 50D was announced, the 'gapless microns' used to make images less noisy was so highly anticipated. But in the end, 50D high ISO was :cry:

So dunno this 'breakthrough' can do what miracles... Really anticipating... ;p
