Kit I or II comes with an STM lens. Kit III doesn't. You might want to find out more about STM lenses, which the 70D can take advantage of when videoing, and choose a kit according to your liking and need.

Collected my 70D today from Canon. Overall feel is similar to the 60D.
What I like after playing around with it earlier:
The plastic feels abit more solid than the 60D
Touch screen and the ability to pinch to zoom in/out instead of pressing the physical buttons
Wifi control via my phone works well. Able to control within a 5m radius of the camera. I believe its capable of a further distance
19 AF points
Focusing with my 10-22mm is seemingly quicker than the 60D for photos
Stereo sound recording for videos
Quick focus in video mode
Command dial rotates 360 degrees
Hope to do some comparisons this weekend in both raw and jpg if time permits.

It seems Canon has indeed pulled out almost all plugs to make 70D a compelling product and I was almost sold, until after trying out the physical thing.
The buttons feel rubbery (especially the shutter) and cheap and the higher ISOs are still noisy.
But the functions crucial to me are also the most disappointing: the quick control dial and the multicontroller.
They are so small and the multicontroller is so hard to press that it has become an annoyance.
I'm still using 40D and its control dial and multicontroller is the same size as 6D which sits besides the 70D at Canon vivo city so try them out and feel the difference.

why do you need exposure compensation in manual mode when you are in full control? And I wonder which camera have it.

when u use auto ISO with manual mode, exposure compensation can be useful. not sure if this is a function in the 70D though
I finally took the plunge to get the Canon EOS 70D (my very first DSLR). I have been using compact cameras for a very long time and was quite hesitant to get a DSLR camera because of its hefty price tags which include the lens and other accessories. But it had been a turbulent first week with the camera with a steep learning curve of its operations and functions. (still learning as I am a noob with DSLR). Purchased a new Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 and a used Canon EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 IS II lenses. Pray pray with the camera and the lens really complicated Took some shots

It's at Sim Lim Square level 2. Shop name Square United Cam.
I got my kit 3 at $1700. You have to go around and check price. Lucky plaza also not too bad, I found one at $1750 for kit 3 too.

Took some images this morning at Tiong Bahru area... the articulating LCD display and touch screen function of the EOS 70D comes in pretty useful for certain shots.
Just got hold of my 70D.
I used it for a birthday party and it produced wonderful results.
Most of my comparisons are to my 650D (which is similar to the 700D) ---
1. The AF is fast, tracks very well and 19points covers a good part of the VF.
2. I was using mainly my 18-135 STM lens from my 650D kit 2. And it worked brilliantly. Very fast and smooth focussing. I bought the 55-250 IS II as well and was playing around with it and it works well with the 70D and the AF system.
3. I did a quick video at the party and i must say the dual pixel cmos is fantastic!!! It tracked my friend's face as i was abt 4m away from him and never lost focus despite me zooming jn and out. Also my friend's face partially left the frame for a second or two as he blew out the candles and yet the AF did not lose track.
I have done some video with my 650D - which is supposed to be somewhat video oriented, but on most occasions i had just got tired of the camera hunting for a focal point and losing its focal point that i switched to manual focus.
4. The camera has a good feel - its bigger and fuller grip fits my hand better, and the buttons are placed nicely - however i do find the rotating dial and the 8-way selector buttons very soft and squishy. Sometimes im not sure if i am pressing the right ones.
5. The wifi is great. I set up and transferred some images to my iphone at the party within 5min and posted them on fb with ease.
6. The in camera raw image processing is useful and i recovered some blown highlights before transferring the image to my phone and uploading them.
7. I was shooting at ISO 2000-2500 and it produced some good results. Good enough for a casual family gathering where no one would zoom in to inspect the photos and pick out the small amounts of noise.
8. The camera is a little heavy especially with the heavier 18-135 STM lens. Hence, i would consider using the 650D for relaxed occasions and when i just want to shoot random stuff with friends.
On the whole, i have enjoyed using the camera and i like its load of features and responsiveness. I think it makes taking good photos easier.

I was inspired by Meng Huat after seeing the very beautiful bird series in his Flickr & here in CS. So I went to Jurong Bird Park to take some bird photos for the very first time, and also to try out the EF-S 55-250 STM lens. (Sorry that the background of #4 & #5 look patchy; I didn't upload hi-res copies to my Flickr.)

Thanks very much. It was my very first try at birds, and first time owning a lens longer than 135mm. Still a lot to learn from experts like yourself.
haha bro im no where expert also. I started with 70-300, 400 than finally 600.
Slowly learn along the way
Thank you for sharing.
Recently checked a few shops. Prices have gone down a bit for 70D, maybe competition. Price for 70D body $1319.
