EOS 70D officially announced and previewed

May consider keeping it for my son to play with it instead of selling it or as a backup. I doubt it can fetch much now anyway.

Just be back from CSC, the 70D body is out of stock.

The PPP is not listed on Canon's website and, honestly, seems to almost be an exclusive offer known only to Clubsnappers or friends of Clubsnappers :D

I went down to CSC today and last thursday, and they do offer the PPP, and they offer it for 70D @ $1230. I didnt know about this PPP, until i found the thread on clubsnap a month or two back.

By the way, the PPP prices are not fixed and are based on exchange rates, so expect them to vary slightly.

You place the order at CSC not the vivocity showroom.

Yep yep. I meant i have not gone to the showroom to demo the set. I'd like to demo it first.

Anyways anyone saw the courts deal?

70D kit 1 @ $849 (50%off RRP of $1699)
- gotta buy it under their flexi plan though.

Legit?

where did you see it from? I rush down to buy now!! haa

Haha i saw it in today's main page of straits times.

Dont buy though, i calculated the entire amount paid and it adds up to abt $1664. Abt 12% interest per annum. :(

Wonder how they arrived at $849...

Seriously I'm not surprised that many get suckered into buying deals like the ones at Courts and end up paying more. IMHO Courts is famous for these things which is why I never buy from them

Hi Nathan25,

May i know how you derive the calculation? Can share?

The advertisement has more details that i didnt post. It says weekly payments of $7.99 for a 48 month period.

$7.99 x 52 weeks a year x 4 years = ~$1662

(I rounded off to $8.00 per week and arrived at $1664 in my earlier post)

Yep. If u check out the flexiplan, it says 0.99% interest a month. So that approx 12% interest each year.

Happened to be at Tampines Courts, so decided to check out their "offer". So yes, the offer only applies if you get their 48 months flexi plan installment. Total payment estimated about 1.7k+. Totally not worth it, which I told it straight to the salesgirl....Upon hearing that, the salesgirl change tact and said I could get by going for those credit card interest free installment, but at RRP price. When I said I could get cheaper from other reputable camera shop, she just said they have more free gifts.... haha... by then I had lost interest and just thank her and leave.

Not worth. 8gb mem card and Canon Bag are the standard free gift wherever you buy from - its listed in the Canon website.

Kit 3 goes for around $1850+/-. Assume its $1850, that translates to paying another $150 for the remaining ''free gifts''.

I think you are better off taking that sum of money to invest in an electric dry cabinet - $120+ for small one. Its not that small actually...enough space for 1 body and 2-3 lens and filters.
