it cost, $1390 for body only... made wether alum or plastic i not sure. but it is good quality body....

I think you can get it for $1320 mentioned from one of the earlier threads. I called canon asking about the privilege program for the 70D if I trade in an old canon film cam but they weren't able to confirm the discount given. My 60D was bought under the program and enjoyed about 18% off the retail price.

If 70D can qualify for the program, then the price would probably be about $1230+ based on 18% off.

Its not available on canon website. Need to go and check with canon srv center directly.

And need few days processing also..

You need to call them and request to speak with the CSO. I received the call today and was told the price would be $1230+ with GST. Will need to bring your old Canon cam to the service centre and they will advise the discount eligible. It took about 3 working days for my 60D to be collected last time.

Payment can be made by credit card at no extra charge.

Anyone can shed some light as to where to purchase a new 70d for a good price,
tried to email various retailers and made some calls but the quotes were not really impressive

hope i posted this on the right thread for 70d assistance looking to replace my older 500d with this and it seems to be a good choice!

Great purchase for 70D! But why don't you sell your 60D in BnS section first? Then buy the 70D?

The privilege purchase program (PPP) is not announced officially in the canon website. The program works by 'trading' in an old Canon camera working or faulty (film or digital). The customer service officers at the service will assess the 'value' of the trade in camera and advise the price of the new camera. xxxxD, xxxD and 70D are in the program. Single digits Ds do not qualify.

Kit bundles qualifies for the PPP. You can use 18% as an approximate discount off the recommend retail price from canon's website to know the final price you would be paying.

I suggest that you go down in person at the service centre.

Great purchase for 70D! But why don't you sell your 60D in BnS section first? Then buy the 70D?

May consider keeping it for my son to play with it instead of selling it or as a backup. I doubt it can fetch much now anyway.
