The eyepiece extender for 5D2 is the EP-EX15. The EP-EX15 II is not for the 5D2. II version does not mean it's a replacement model for the original in this instance.

Really? Cos the sales guy even fitted the EX15II in a 5DmkII for me to try!

Not that I'm asking too much, but I think Dp Review is really slow at rolling out official review for 5D MkII.
A lot of other sites and mags already done comparisons and such.

My rambles for the day....

or you can read the rubbish that ken rockwell wrote :P

3 minutes then hang?? SOunds like a memory card issue. There have been reports of 'slow' cards hanging / stopping the video recording after 3-6 minutes. I think you can do a search on the web for this thing related to memory cards.

What memory card were you using ?

Thanks for the reply.

i am using sandisk extreme III 8GB 30mb/s

Then I doubt so its the card as I'm quite sure it exceeds the minimum requirements of the video recoding.

Is it something that is always repeatable ? If it is, bring it down to the Canon Service Center, my experience with the staff there has been excellent.

I'm quite sure if politely ask the counter staff to ask a technician to take quick look at it, they will. And if its straightforward solution, they probably will answer you there and then. If not, then leave your camera there for about 3 days, they will SMS and then call you to collect it when its done. Pretty pleasant experience for a service center. ( compared to many electronics product companies which can be a pain to deal with!! )

Ok, thank for the advice. Will go to check on monday.

Well its official.. 5d2 has got focusing issues with 50mm f1.4 and cannot be repaired even wth calibration.

why do i say so? well i'm the third person to have the same problem with the lens. i sent the lens for calibration but when it came back, the problem still exists.

I just came back from Thaipusam with very bad (soft) images taken with that lens, will upload soon.

You mean the Canon 50mm f/1.4 ? :o

Right this is one of many soft images. Focus is on the eye.

Shot settings is 1/60sec at f4 ISO250.

Sent the lens for calibration when i bought it right before CNY. In the end, nothing was solved. Am going to pay Canon yet another visit tomorrow.

Well the first person to document this is probably the big mouth Ken Rockwell but i think this time round, he has a case.

Any other 5d2 users encounter this as well? 2 of my other 5d2 friends kena the same prob.

Sprewell, can't you play around with the microadjustment.

Was at J3:16 yesterday and saw two guys buying 5DII, wonder if they are fellow snappers.
