you r rite, it's 1/40S.
anyway, higher ISO always offer us faster shutter speed.
Do understand the photo was shot outdoor night without flash, and the girl was fast moving----i satisfied with the photo which was a mission impossible on my old baby 20D.

Anyone here familiar with mounting a nikon 14-24 on 5D2? how much is the adaptor right now?

engrmariano, top gear.
Nothing you will need if zip 105 to 70:cool::cool::cool:

I think you can check with CS regular "weekh". He has a thread somewhere using the Nikon 14-24 on his 1Ds camera.

I've bought an adaptor from tagotech. about 60 SGD.

And used it with my 50 mm prime - allows you play with the aperture when doing video.

Are you refering to this one ? http://store.tagotech.com/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=46

This adapter allows you to work with Nikon AFD lenses because they still retain the aperture ring, but for AFS G lenses like the Nikon 14-24mm that lacks the aperture ring, you need a special adapter to control the aperture.

Ya I think Weekh has an adapter that adapts his AFS 14-24 onto his EOS body. I wonder if it is the same one that I mentioned.

I am waiting for the targotech one so my AFD lenses can at least work well. Might get the Nikon G adapter - EOS mount in future since i got a few AFS G lenses lying ard ..

Not sure if there are other makers at the moment.

Ryan

I saw this o the net..but wondering if got other maker and the costs. The one over here costs like 150 pounds for the lever version

The lever one needs u to remove something off the 14-24mm as well.

I am also looking for an alternative. Lets see wat's weekh's reply, and do update us as well on the Nikon G - EOS adapter he is using.

It is more like the subject has moved away from the pt where it was being AF. It this case using AIServo will probably help. However, I find 5DM2 AI servo is still not as good even with 6 assist AF points.

but the rotation one i read it cause vignetting problem because it affects the hood position as u rotate it....maybe that's why lever version more ex. i am trying to read up more...i'm still learning...a 14-24 is not so soon. will be sharing my friend's 16-35L II first ad see how is it...

I read the vignetting occurs in a very unlikely situation

Here is a post that the maker wrote in FM forum on his adapter and the vignetting issue :

It's very important to clarify that the rotating version only 'vignettes' (actually just reveals the integral hood in the top left and bottom right corners) in one - very specific - very unlikely combination of circumstances. To show the effect, you must do all of the following:
• Shoot at 14mm or 15mm AND
• Shoot at f22 AND
• Set the focus to 1m or less.

I can't imagine any circumstance where you'd need to do this. Under ALL other focal length, aperture and focus combinations, there is no vignetting. In fact, the lack of vignetting is one of the major benefits of the lens, on Canon or Nikon.

From Hubsand / Mark is the guy from 16:9

Ya the 14-24mm is not in my future plans either. Meanwhile i got many other lenses that work well with my 5D2 :)

Meanwhile, happy shooting guys, and Happy CNY

Are you getting it for the sharpness/aperture or just for pure wide focal length?

If the former 2 are not 100% important, give the Sigma 12-24 some consideration. Its absolutely WIDE....

Coupled with its close focusing, can create some very unique perspectives on a FF which I do not think other lenses can replicate. Let me process some picts I took recently first to illustrate what I mean ( will take a few days) ..... ;)

Very sad to hear this ................. looking forward to getting the cam:(

Hello,

Anybody use spotlight for the video? can intro and band.

Thanks

Ok, here's 2 of a few I took at full 12mm close up and the somewhat exaggerated perspective it creates. In some ways, due to great difference in DOF of subject in focus and subjects in the peripheral, looks like a cross between a tilt-lens and a fisheye! :bsmilie:

Hope its suffice to illustrate what I mean. ;p

Ok, think this one is more obvious .... ;p
(My front element was like perhaps 45~50cm from the yellow bunding! )
