From a landscape shooter: The 5D MkII is stunning in terms of fine detail. Dynamic range wise it is not as much as the A900. I would argue that the per-pixel sharpness is a little better than the A900. The D700 looses out for lack of resolving power to large prints and fine grain detail.

need some advise. I wanted to get a BG but right now i think a lot of places no stock. CP was telling me abt 400++,I saw at TCW selling 355(grey set). Any issue with buying grey set? Also, with my current set up,if in future i add in a 70-200 f4. will the grip add me much in support? sorry have not use a grip before in my previous camera so i'm not sure if this aid much.

Huh? Grey set? That's new considering that Canon do not offer warranties for battery grips to begin with.

oh. i never buy a grip before so not sure of warranty issue. Ok. then i will go tcw to get a grip then

No, never. It's a typo issue known to many since that webpage was done.

Still waitng for some "braveheart" to try EFS on 5DmkII and share the experience.... but advise against it since its an expensive toy...

Hi EOS 5D MKII club members

I Just curious if anyone know any free softwares to convert .mov to .avi format without down size the HD format or any recommended good video editing softwares for 5D MKII?

Many thanks.

don't mistake dinotech statement.
dear falconite and redition.
Follow link from canon sg web site , it mention include of EF-S lens.
Extracted from following web site: lens campatable lens for 5D MKII. What joke.:bsmilie:
If some brave fellow can extracted the web inform content and plug the EF-S Lens to 5D MKII and heading to CSC asking why the ef-s lens can't fit in the 5D MKII and it damage.,
It mention the 5D Mkii compatible lens include of EF-S lens from canon Sg web site. damn men.

Compatible Lenses Canon EF lenses (including EF-S lenses)
(The effective lens focal length is the same as indicated on the lens)

Now need canon sg better have a good explanation on it.

^ to the above...

try using "print" screen next time.

Once and for all, EF-S lenses are NOT compatible with the 5D2. You can mount the lens by removing the back baffle and use a focal length where the rear glass element does not interfere with the mirror, but you still cannot avoid the large portions of blacked out corners caused by the smaller image circle produced from EF-S lenses.

Actually, I take it back, it may not be 'never'. Nikon is capable of accepting it's cropped lenses (DX Mode), would be awesome if Canon can too actually.

Not to digress - though technically not possible, people have mod their EF-S lenses to mount on their FF. I would love to do this to my 10-22 if someone is very confident of doing so for me though. Haha... Then I don't have to contemplate on choosing the right UWA for my future FF camera.

As far as I've seen, people have modified their Canon 10-22mm to fit the 1D but not a FF camera. And in any case, the removal of the baffle only allows the lens to be used effectively from 14mm onwards if I remember correctly. I think you'll have better luck with the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8. That one works with a FF from 15mm! Effectively you've got a 15mm -16mm f/2.8 prime!

Yup.. saw the modified of 10-20 on use on a 1D... anyway... seems like alot of EFs have that little rubberized baffle... hmm.. but yet... don't try .. someone else will do it shortly and tell the story.... keep watch manz!

Just in doubt in the HD video mode in the 5D MKII sensor?
In the pervious cam model generation of live view mode, when the sensor exposured a long period of time, the sensor will cause overheat issue.
It will totally shut down the camera.
Do this will be happen onto 5D MKII,as it can shot the HD video up to 29min 59 sec continue
for 4G CF Card. As the sensor will continue operate in a long period.
It will be big difference, when it happen in the early morning, mid day or nite time.
Do the 5D MKII sensor lifespan will shorten,if the camera have high chance use the the video mode by some user?
It just a open discussion. Please spare your though. Fellow CSer......
