Well the Swedish guy has been using Canon all the way, and paid to be this new product testing.
Of course good reviews he will say.

He does have certain reputation to maintain though...

So, if I am in his position, I will not hesitate to talk about the good stuff. Others can easily duplicate my tests and verify them. I do not doubt his claims about the AF speed.

HOWEVER, I will NOT mention anything negative That's for me to know and others to find out. This way, I will be able to please my sponsors and not tarnish my reputation at the same time. :bsmilie:

Even tho the AF is improved, it still has been only 9 point right from 20d.
Tot Canon would have at least 11 or 19 for this release....a bit of disappointment for me.
And somemore, it doesnt always get the shots especially when comes to sport photography. So far I only get 50% accurate shots even on a F2.8 AI Servo.

Based on the DPReview jpegs, I am relieved to say the 50D dynamic range at low ISO is not compromised and high ISO performance looks good (no overzealous noise reduction at ISO 6400). Looks like it's confirmed: I am getting one for myself. :)

Better to wait for more preview and shots...and comparisons between different brand

50d iso 6400 is not usable. picture cracked. and very bad noise. But at least i know 3200 is usable.

Yup especially the Banana shot at 6400ISO, horrible!
Dun they have better subject to shoot?

Proof? How do you come to that statement?

So um.. wouldn't that make my 400D's ISO1600 unusable?

Cmon, when you need to use ISO6400, it's because you need to, not want to.

WHOA SOLID 3200

Looks promising! Let's see what's the street price... ;)

kencfk what ur next camera worthy of the L after selling thg 40d? 50d? 5d? 5dmk2?

Just a user feedback, looking at the AF department...its really time Canon should do something about it. The tracking, accuracy, AF pnts, etc...
Its an important feature that most photographer sought after.

Well, you may have to wait till 2009 then. :bsmilie:

Frankly, I think that was not a very fair picture to draw conclusion at. The shots was under-exposed, and all the dots and blotches on the bananas & peach, you can't tell it's noise or spots. Let's wait for a proper noise comparison test like to like between cameras. Also not quite logical to have such drastic difference in noise level at 1 stop diff between 3200 to 6400.

Agree, they should have better photographers at DPR to shoot proper.

when u have commercial work. the amount of noise from that picture would get BIG F U from ur client. Trust me. When you are gonna print 300 dpi or even 150 dpi shots. Less noise matters.
