Hi, i'm holding a D5100. Wondering how does this lens fares??

The lens will work, but don't expect miracles out of it. It is a cheap all-in-one zoom lens, and will always be. But hey, it is still a decent performer.

Do check if the one you get has a built-in motor - you'll need that to auto-focus on your Nikon D5100.

Not too bad for the price for an all in one zoom lens. But u really get wat u pay for. Daylight its nice but at low lighting... better not zoom... lokx

just received mine yesterday when it got delivered to my place since i won an ebay auction for it at a very good rate.

Don't expect it to be sharp like the 17-50,
its an all rounder lens, focus is pretty decent during daylight, focuses pretty bad when its dark
don't expect to zoom this at 200mm when its dark handheld though.

overall a decent lens if you just want something that covers that wide of a range for a cheap price

but if you have the budget and want something that covers a wide range
i'd recommend the 18-270 VC instead. you'll benefit from the VC.
don't really necessarily have to get the PZD version which cost more

AF 18-200mm F/3.5 - 6.3 very basic lens, you need look for BIM nikon mount for D5100, another cover wide range lens is AF 18-270mm VC picture quality better.
