Just a suggestion that maybe CS photographers who do model shots can help distribute a simple leaflet (printable from the CS page) to models they work with. This should help new models from becoming victims as awareness spreads. Just a simple explanation of what is considered contractual (or not) and that there are such predator or luck trying photographers around would do.

We as a community must also not jump into a mob mentality at every single opportunity.

As much as I agree with all other points this one is the most important. I have seen so many threads here with a maximum of mob mentality, nearly calling for public lynching and stuffs but containing a minimum of verified informations and facts. Wake up people and stop watching too much silly movies. Life needs reason, after all. Even of some members of the society lack this skill that doesn't mean we can deal with them in the same unreasonable way.

All the talk about registration, getting personal particulars etc when joining photo shoot, etc etc...

mollers can do tat themselves rite

in similar context like photog keeps a portfolio of mollers for future reference... mollers can also keep "details" of photogs ;)

You are also probably the type of scholar who enjoys making policies in the same way our Government does, not knowing or experiencing the actual things on ground, but choosing to make decisions from afar.

:bsmilie:

now this is taking it to a new level.

talking about ot, let's drag in where your ah kong, ah ma and dog and things in your nose came from, we can also speculate on the origins of all these things, so we can talk about everything else but the subject.

for someone so vocally opposed to ot, it seems like you do it most of the time.. :) even in faq threads.

All the talk about registration, getting personal particulars etc when joining photo shoot, etc etc, is but setting up another ungainly bureaucracy that no one wants to administrate and worst, to secure the data from malicious intention.

We are adults, at least most of us are. We are therefore responsible of our own welfare. Not CS or any other organization.

i agree with this, dp, you know i do.

but once again - the bigger picture. i hope you of all people understand where i'm coming from.

we aren't talking about one wart on the skin, we're talking about a pollution of warts; certainly we aren't going to just jump at the opportunity and cut out every single one we find... but we can try something that reduces the overall effect.

anyways, i am also doubtful of the positive purpose of having such a database in the long run - but i also think it is important to make it clear which side of the fence clubsnap stands on. as of this moment, as far as i can see, it seems like the usual thing is going on - sitting on the fence, waiting for it to crumble before anything is done. and then you have the smart alecs trying to spout a whole load of text that means nothing. a big fat zero, but they just run around posting malicious comments in the hopes of creating some entertainment in their sad, sad lives.

what do you think?

so octarine, you strike me as one of the more vocal members here...

let me ask you something:

1) yes, maybe isolated cases are cases of crying wolf, fair enough, we need concrete evidence. obviously everyone sees that

2) do you think such cases happen in singapore, within clubsnap?

3) if so, what is your stand?

both of you better behave

why should the photographer print a page for the "model"?
these guidelines should be in a model forum for models to read and understand

remember that we are a photography forum

yar yar yar, always both of you behave, even when obviously i have not made any personal attacks even when i could.

whatever. :o:o

that is what you think, sometimes it is wise to step outside of your shoes and look from another perspective.

:bsmilie:

of course, i have thought of all the perspectives, it is gradually becoming clearer why nothing is done to particular members.:thumbsup:

you want to joke in joke thread, i shut one eye; this kind of serious issue also want to bring in personal feud, then i have nothing to say lor. :) petty people will always be petty.. small men will have their own way of living a small life.

anyways, i have had enough talking about this, let's concentrate on the issue at hand.

oh, i see, now i have to be a rubbish collector to suggest things on rubbish collecting procedures

or a plumber to suggest things regarding piping in a house

or a taxi driver to suggest what is wrong with taxi prices..

or a erp gantry to suggest what is wrong with erp......

or i actually have to take public transport to make noise about the public transport system

ridiculous!!!!!!!!! :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie: is this all sounding familiar? thanks, i will copy this quote, it is going to be very useful in kopitiam. :)

does singapore have such a thing? a model forum, anyways.

maybe someone should start one :o

just because one is a photography forum, does not mean that one only considers photographer's pov.

if you insist,

forum life has nothing to do with one's personal life. but then again, i expect nothing to be done. why? just look at the big student fiasco, it is perfectly fine to attack someone's livelihood as a surgeon even. :bsmilie:

when you have precedence of closing one eye, then you can expect that the eye is always closed.

in fact, based on this, why bother talking about such things? looking at the attitude of most of the older members here, anyone younger is going to be some form of fledgling optimist who just like to spout nonsense without thinking.

in that case, why bother?

thread closed.

i am not a model, so i know/care not

because one is a photography forum means we care more about photographers
