This is good!

Great framing...excellent!

You have not just captured Europe but the atmosphere too! Great series.

P.s. Your wife must be very patient.

Thanks ArcticFox. On the hindsight, yes, she was.

Thanks. a rare photo opportunity

the view from our room. Just returned from Thun after the rain. Still drizzling. We notice a low lying cloud starts to engulf the whole region. later when the cloud clears, the areas that were covered revealed snow!

Snow! It was amazing, just that same morning, this was still green. By evening, it is covered with snow.

ok, indulge me. At a cafe in Spiez while waiting for a connecting train, check out the view. How picturesque.

Turn 30 degrees left, and the view... so miss this experience.

#60 Snow capped Zermatt.
It was BEAUTIFUL on the way up to Zermatt from Visp. But I did not take any pictures as there was a train maintenance and we were on a bus instead.

This is the reason I came to Zermatt. Alas, I did not take my tripod when I saw it...

Apologies for the long absence. Been really busy as 1 of my teammate went into early labour, and had extra events to cover. Anyhow, taking where this was left off.

#63 Gornergrat
Took the cog train up to Gornergrat to see Matterhorn. Rothorn Paradise would be my first choice but it is close during winter. It refuse to be seen! I literally stood there from 9am to 2pm, in the snow!!! Here are some other views, consolation if you must.

Ahhh, Matterhorn! Zermatt is a nice, quiet and cosy place to stay in. I miss Switzerland to bits!

me too. but Zermatt's weather was not nearly as kind to me. moving on to France, catching a 6:19am train, we left Zermatt at 5:39am!!! Did not see any of the Beautiful scenery we saw on our way up. pity.

#67 Paris Gare Est
arriving in Paris after about 6 hours of train ride. the roof top was really classical.

#68 Paris Metro
This is about my only shot inside the Metro in Paris. We did not feel safe at all, seeing so many different coloured people (not meant as racist remark), and how they behave so loudly, my wife asked me to stop acting like a tourist in the Metro.

#69 Tour Montparnasse
During my planning phase for the trip, I almost mistake Tour Montparnasse for another tower, and almost end up planning for a different place. Luckily I quickly ran through some of the Paris threads in CS (esp N86M's) and realised my mistake. Althought Europe/Paris gave me lots of lousy weather, Paris gave me the best sunset and sunrise. Spent almost 2 hours up at the tower, froze my fingers off!

#70 Eiffel
I never intend to climb the Eiffel Tower as I only wanted to see it. Tour Montparnasse is really a must for a good panoramic view of Paris. Much better than LA Defense tower. I took so many, just posting a few to share.

For fun, humour me, can you see a rainbow? It's like it is coming out of Sacre Cour. Holy light!

1 more, nearing sunset

1 thing I noticed about Paris/ France on my way in (via a 4-hour train), it is a relatively flat land. I suspect it is because of this that I got good sunrise and sunset lighting.

1 more from Tour Montparnasse. I took 3 panos, 2 of them at twilight. For some reason, there is a very distinct purple banding that made all my shots for the stitch un-useable. Strange thing is that when I stitch them together, the bands on each picture lined up perfectly. strange... never encounter before.

#75 Pont Neuf
Woke up early for sunrise... not. The sunrise at winter is at 8am!!! I could slowly take my time... hahahaha. The sunrise colours are out of this world! I really think this could be attributed to the flat landscape.

Pont Neuf means new bridge. Ironically, this is one of the oldest bridge along River Seine. And this small island in the River house Notre Dame.

turned my head to the right and this is the view.

Thanks. glad you liked it. You can never be too careful in Europe, generally speaking. late last year, out of 3 of my colleagues who went, 2 got their money stolen.

Very Nice Works of yours.

I am heading to Swiss near Oct this year.
Hope you can give me some advise..

thanks in advance

Thanks 29time05. I'll be glad to share my itinerary with you. drop me an email at emlee01@gmail.com. From there, it might be easier to answer any specific questions you have.

This series is amazing emlee! The sunrise/sunset colours in Paris are real pretty.

#83 Mont St Michel
this is my Mont St Michel. The weather was over cast the whole day (not kidding), with occasional drizzle. The field was wet and muddy, I would otherwise have ventured to the small meandering river.

this is how I felt: disappointed by the weather. My wife and I do hope to visit again on a better season. And we'd want to stay overnight.
