Together with the Qoo10 $100 coupon and $10 item coupon, I am able to get it at $995 with 1 yr shop warranty from 7daydeal. The seller mentioned that the unit will be sent Olympus overseas for warranty claims. 7 day refund and exchange also provided so recommend to test it heavily within 7 days. BnS selling second hand units without warranty at 1k. Might as well get a brand new unit even if the 1 year warranty is not local and may lead to longer reapir times. Better value.

That's a good price , but did seller mention how long does the 'sending overseas process' take in case of a need for repairs ?

call me skeptical, but I will be worried leaving my camera with a grey dealer to handle the repair etc.

No la . I'll be worried too, especially for stores that's give no time frames for repairs. Nice price for the body though but I rather pay the diff for warranty & peace of mind.

yeah I'm just curious how these small time grey dealers are able to handle the logistics of sending back to the service center in the country of origin to get it fixed. I feel there's a risk that they may just get an unauthorized party locally to do a quick and dirty repair job, or maybe replace with a used set etc. call me skeptical again but the fact is they don't have any proven track record to give me any sort of assurance.

Very valid points and genuine concerns from Keith and berkins. Thanks! I ended up ordering from a more reputable store selling grey market sets: Techno Gadgets. At least the warranty conditions allow me to repair at Olympus Singapore and claim the costs from them.

Can't wait to collect it and start shooting for upcoming 5 months stay in USA!

Just curios, how much is the difference from their set compared to local?

For local new set body only I was quoted $1400+. I bought grey set from Techno Gadget at the price listed on their website $1085 with a $50 discount using a coupon code from their Facebook page.

$400 savings is really impt to a student with student loans hahaha

Sorry to hear abt it. Curious when you remove the battery (to switch off your camera) overnight does it still retain the date/time the next day?

Yah, that's what im doing now. Battery life shorten alot cause it is on more often. Date/time still there overnight

Isn't there a setting under Power Management to tell the camera to power off after like say 15 mins? It seems that power on is not faulty, only power off?

I guess you are already using the sleep setting.

Malaysia has a street price of RM5900 with 12-40 f2.8 Pro lens, with GST rebate of 5%, the set is essentially very tempting at $ 1868. Just to share.
