EF 28-105mm

hi hello everyone.

i saw this lens.
and i need recommendations.

EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM
EF 28-105mm f/4-5.6 USM

(my friend is using this lens but kind of reluctant to share her view on it. stingy.)

so yeah, trusty photographers,
what do you think?
or are there any other lens within the budget with better quality?
(i intend to get a 2nd hand piece)

(and i intend to use it for daily shots, casual outing. nothing serious, but i hope to get good quality out of it.)

I've managed to get hold of this lens (the f/3.5-4.5) just recently after a fair bit of saving as I needed to fit the gap between my 18-55 kit lens & 75-300. The focusing is fast & accurate enough for me, as well as being sufficiently sharp. The 28mm end is a bit long occassionally but I could live with it comfortably though. I would definitely recommend the 28-105 f/3.5-4.5 II over the f/4-5.6 version, both in terms of build quality & possible image quality (from what I gathered from the numerous online reviews).
