Hey thanks guys, but it is not me lah.

It's the whole group, everyone makes each other happy. We all can click no matter whether we are "professionals" or "newbies". I personally feel very comfortable with the members of our group and that's very important.

Let's continue to make this a very comfortable group for everyone who wants to join us.

I think tcss every 2 weeks may be a possibility if we all can set aside the time but might be a little too tight for some. For those who had just completed their exams, it will be alright I think.

Next outing should be a model shoot, trying to get myopia on to help us get this going. He has the lopang la..

Blomqvist and maybe even witness can help in arranging for an "overseas" outing.

Daletan should also be helping us with "Buildings" outings.

Maybe haechoo and 2nd-Hamsterlord can help us with Photoshop (maybe it's me only lah. HaHa)

So we have got quite a lot of exposure in the forthcoming weeks and months just take us along with your suggestions, and we can then schedule them accordingly.

The rest of those not mentioned, you may have some "expertise" area that you can help us with whether in outing arrangements or even workshop on techniques, composition etc etc..
please feel free to drop a line here. Let's get this thread moving again then.

Hearing from you all soon.

Haha...me need to learn about photoshop...not teach about photoshop. hahaha

Hmm... since everyone kin, and quite a lot still in the mids of learning stage, why not organise 1 outing follow by 1 TCSS whereby we can exchange our take away in the last outing and also perhaps organise Photoshop lesson or sharing session so that everyone can improve. What you guys think?? :)

I am for that suggestion, so what's next on the outing list and when are we going to have that and the tcss?

Suggestions to be listed:

1.
2.
3.

etc..

Thanks

I will suggest taking photo that is DIFFERENT from the existing shot. We get to see nature, fashion, marco, potrait, studio, food, landscape, abstract etc etc. However recently as I learn about HDR from the west shooterz team, I realize a great potential in it. I propose a HDR Shooting!! HDR shot excel in commercial and product shot. It is more detail and the quality in color is excellent. (Dont underexpose too much*) You dont have to do a long exposure shot

Below are some introduction to HDR and tutorial.

The only problem is that you must have either a photoshop CS2/CS3 or Photomatix. A tripod is definitely a must. A remote control if* you are using a very bulky len. The moment you click your shutter, the whole camera may shake slightly. A HDR image size is around 100mb at least( If you are taking in raw* ) Correct me if I miss out anything or say wrongly* Noise problem happen so you have to know what setting you using.

The location for it can be anywhere however it will be good if we can go a place where we can see many different colors. We will try on still life first to grab the essence of it. This is my proposal. Tata~

excellent article ham. likewise, im very keen on hdr photography. some of the images out there are amazing!

i did try it out myself on a few occasions...taking multiple shots at different exposures (shutter speeds) but didnt quite get it right. then again, the scene makes or breaks the output anyways.

as for photoshop. its pretty easy. i got some of the basics on hand. i did take up a photography course at knowledge bowl in fortune centre (conducted by steven and edward). they have a photoshop course. 6 lessons for 200+

do check out www.knowledgebowl.com

photoshop can do amazing things especially the latest cs3 version. you can adjust depth of field, positioning for the rule of thirds etc etc.

i have a cd for photoshop basics if anyone wants, i can burn it for you

danael79..... how's the photoshop course at knowledge bowl? do u think it helps? i'm contemplating whether to start at level 1 or level 2.

pauche, if you have a basic grasp on the s/w, i think you could save some money buy buy books and the cd-rom guide. they're pretty helpful but you have to put in a little effort to read through and experiment.

the course will give you a more hands on approach (likewise, i have cd roms that do the job too).

it all depends on what you hope to achieve. i met the photoshop trainer at knowledgebowl. he is pretty good and explains in details how to get things done so you might want to give it a go.

i will sign up for the course when im ready to venture into that side of the hobby (and if im too lazy to read the books) but for the moment, im pretty content with the "basics" (color correction, exposure adjustment, straightening, cropping etc)
