thanks bro, once I have more time I'll experiment also and try to look for article in the internet.

I am considering in getting ND filter and CPL I'll try to read up also about these filters currently I have on my 14-54 is B+W UV Haze filter MRC

can try reading this book "Mastering Filters For Photography Professional Digital And Optical Techniques" by Chris Weston, most of my filter,if not,all my filter knowledge comes from that book :bsmilie: Link is here, that's the paper cover copy, I have the hard cover copy, different design, same info

No problems, I bought mine at Pageone at Vivocity, libraries also have them, Pageone not sure if still stocks it or not, everytime I go (I go to Vivocity months apart at a time,no kidding) and the books always seem to change, maybe only a handful of books are the same though

thanks bro,

was reading some about filters specially ND and CPL.... will try to dig in further see what type and gauge filter I will need :)

Thisis a B+W filter hand book :)

Ah... that.... Its kinda like the EOS lens handbook, useful more or less for general info, mainly on their own products:bsmilie:

yeah after reading it I have more questions than I've started hehehe... but atleast it gves me something to start with...

I dont want to ask this but it may saves me time searching the internet reading articles... for bigineers like me who would want to invest in CPL and ND filters where do we start??? this is not by brand but by grade or stops for ND and is there different CPL grades types? which one or sets are recommended a must have for someone like me more like a hobbyst....

Its very subjective, shooting for awhile now and I have yet to invest in any filters other than UV. Probably can get a 1 stop and 2 stop Graduated Neutral Density (GND) filter and a CPL as starts, CPL IIRC cuts down reflections, glares in addition to saturating colours, and using GND to shoot sunsets or sunrise. I used Headfonz's GND,inverse them to get a ND filter, not as effective as an actual ND filter and probably not recommmended, but it got the job done for me.

It all boils down to what you shoot, I hardly shoot landscapes for example, so I don't have use for GND or ND filters, say if I shoot a lot of events on film(assuming now there's no digital) what I will have is gels for my flash and or filters for my lens to correct colour temperature

So first thing first, consider what you shoot and what kind of filters do you need, from then on,you'll more likely know what you need to get

thanks... bro

I like to shoot more like landscape and Structures mostly bright sunny day also love to include the sky and clouds. And I also like to take waters so really like those shiny waters or running waters... maybe just one nice filters for ND or GND and one for CPL...

Currently I have B+W 010 UV-Haze x1 MRC filter filter attached to my 14-54mm

While we are on the topic on filters, can I suggest you have a look at the Cokin P series or Lee filters before committing to those circular fix size filters?
