E6 Processing of slide film

I recently shot several rolls of slides with my Hasselblad XPan panaromic RF camera.
Where can I have these processed with E6 and scanned into RAW or JPEG?
Appreciate info on labs who can do so... name of shop, address, phone numbers, contact persons, etc.
Thanks in advance.

Fred, you might want to ask Ruby photo.

Xpan is an awesome camera. I am going to shoot with the Xpan this coming week too. ;)

BTW Fred, do you have the 30mm/5.6 lens? I have been trying to hunt one down, but to no avail.

Fotohub is the only lab that does E6 processing. All other labs will send their slides to Fotohub to process.

I'm new to the RF world, planning to get a Leica M3 soon and researching now to get more info, hope you guys can advise me - if I shoot in film, what's the megapixel equivalent in RAW?

Um, I never really looked at my negs as megapixels, but I guess that depends on how you scan them.

very very big megapixel if you drum scan :bsmilie:

How big? Someone mentioned an equivalent of 175mp raw file and if that's the case, it makes sense to invest in an f2/ae-1 program with a decent lens and shoot alongside the d700

If you are talking about drum scanners, the highest end ones can hit 11000ppi, which gives an output of ~160 megapixels just from a 35mm frame. That said, I can't say much about the image quality as I've never had my hands on such a hi res file.. Even at 4000ppi on most consumer level scanners, you get ~22 megapixels which is as good as a pro level DSLR of today.

You can send your film to Fotohub's Commonwealth branch. Fastest turnover as it is the headquarters I believe.

that would be tricky since I'm based on Dubai, but kgston has given me some hope - it means that I could shoot with film alongside digital, and if i have anything that's mind-blowing (hey, I might get lucky, right?), I can get it scanned and printed into wallpaper-size :D

hi kupih, just got my 120 slide processed at fotohub.. price is $6.90 inc. gst.

turnaround time 2-3 days if sent to their branches, same day if you send to the HQ at commonwealth..

I use Fotohub too for processing and scan the negs using an Epson V700 flat bed scanner. I usually use 3200 DPI and I think increasing the resolution further has very marginal gains and creates huge files and slow scans. The devil is in reducing dust particles and avoid Newton rings. I have all the 3 XPan lenses: 30, 45 and 90. After acquiring the 30mm lens, this has become my de facto lens on the body most of the time. I would say 80% of the photos are taken with this lens. It is a lens hard to find and costly to acquire, but once you have it, you don't regret it.

Just to ask..what's the street price of the Epson V700? Getting quite interested with self development and scanning. More or less calculated the starting cost of the development kit already. Thanks!

Not sure how much it costs now. I paid S$900 in October 2006. It is still functioning perfectly.

I am eyeing on some scanners also. FYI, the recent v700 promotional price:

v700 is over my budget and many users reviewed that flatbed output is not as sharp as dedicated film scanner, so my buying list now is Plustek 7600i. :)

I kinda aiming the V600, looking for something not too expensive and able to scan 120 film.

V600 selling at around S$450 at Challenger the last time I bought in January 2011.

Very useful accessories indeed. I bought that too. The original holders that come with the scanner are very flimsy and of poor design.
