Any mention on E510 viewfinder? Still tiny?

Based on Phil Askey's hands-on preview of the E-410, he mentioned that the viewfinder was still small, but he quoted: "To be fair however it is quite bright, perhaps a little better than a typical APS sensor-size camera viewfinder."

The full specs are now available on Oly pages. No need for more speculations. Bodies will be available in July. At least here in Sweden.

Oly missed one thing again, that is the wire remote. Some times I wonder what they are doing and why? Shouldn't somebody teach them to read? That is unless they missed to mention in the specs.

So far I can not see any reason for me to sell my E-500 in exchange to E-510. Not much new in 510 if you ask me, but if I were to start today I would get the camera. One thing is more and more sure, that is the 300 series is probably dead. My guess is still that the E-X will be called E-5 (or E-4 which is less probable). I don't think it will be called E-3 for the same reason I gave about one year ago, the looks. It MUST look like the E-330/300 to call it E-3. I think Oly will forever abandon the horisontally swinging mirror. It is now quite obvious that Oly decided to continue with the more classical SLR look and the standard, vertically swinging mirror.

but oly site says 410 is released in late April. I think 410 is already almost done as people has samples already.

another interesting thing is olympus new policy of best image quality for all cameras. I read somewhere that olympus says that all the 410 510 and new e1 replacement has SAME image quality.

So we can judge the new E-x image quality when the 410 comes out Actually, I think this is olympus way of getting around the image sensor bottleneck. They could not find a sensor worthy of a pro-body so they decided to market it in another way.

Noticed that the 'included items' in the chart at the btm, battery is not BLM-1 leh... it's 'BLS-1'. I dunno 'BLS-1'. :dunno: 'BLM-1' listed under 'accessories'.

I think it's wrong info... the BLS-1 is a smaller battery for the E-400... i just now went to check... so it must be for the E-410 only...

Anyway it's great that the E510 uses BLM-1s. The girl would benefit from the IS as well.

Yes. E-X = E-510 + weather resistant body (plastic is my guess) + battery grip + time lapse mode. That will make it E-5.
