E300 vs E330 color

I see expodisc, some other wb filter, selling for hundreds of dollars. Are they really that good?

The Pringles lid (with the whitish colour, not the colourless version) will give similar results. In fact if you own the E-1, you have one built-in and buying the Expodisc would be a waste.

Personally I use a clear filter case with the white foam it came with for FREE...works just as well.

Actually when shooting in the city I'll use the sidewalk or a gray stone wall out of focus as a white/gray card.

I don't know how they can keep a straight face when selling the Expodisc with its price, I couldn't.

I have the same observation from my E300 and E500, I like the E300 colour better

this is a very expensive hobby indeed....a disc cost that kind of money..

Just checked. My Original Olympus bag isn't but the Lowepro Runner is. Maybe it's in all expensive bags...Anyone can verify that??

The material used in the making of the ExpoDisc is specifically selected and calibrated to produce precise, accurate and always reproducible WB results and is for those photographers who demand or need such precision in WB control, especially those who make a living out of their DSLRs. Hence the cost.

Nowadays, there are of course several other alternative custom WB setting accessories available which are cheaper but definitely are not 'free' like Pringles lids, coffee filter, inside linings of camera bags, etc. While some people might say that these 'free' alternatives gives 'similar' results as an ExpoDisc, most of the time, such claims not based on actual comparison tests but just personal 'feelings'.

Some people have actually carried out comparison tests on ExpoDisc and Pringles lid and AWB and other camera WB settings eg. at this post:

Pringles lid, like that also can?:bsmilie: By the way Tomcat, I have installed CaptureOne LE. I am trying out the functions. The UI seems easy to use and pretty fast too.
As for lightzone, I have yet to check out.

Another good thing about C1 is that you don't have to wait for the conversion of one image to be completed before working on another... but the unique feature is still the white balance correction function like I mentioned on Thursday night.
Does C1 LE support the processing of Epson R-D1s RAW files?
