E-PL1 Spare battery (ebay?)

No warranty = Sad, sad me.

Buy at your own risk, and in here, I strongly not recommend anyone doing that.

I would agree with you in most counts.

However, I've also been using DiviPower battery for my K7, it has higher capacity, it costs less and so far it has been charged and used for many cycles in the past few months without issues.

I bought the OEM battery from MS Color and it comes with 1 year warranty.

I was hoping to be able to find something similar for my E-PL1.

Ok quick update from the TS. After about 5 months of use and 11 recharge cycles, the ebay battery is still going strong. No bulging or overheating problems. And it lasts almost twice as long as the original (yes I kept track). I got it from an ebay seller called 'yessshop'. Hope this helps!

Went to MS Color to buy DiviPower OEM battery for my E-PL1. $35 for a 3500mAh unit. It is being charged as we speak and noticed that the neither the battery or the charger are getting any hotter than normal. Will monitor.

As long as one is ready to take the risks with third party batteries, all is good.

For me, I just believe in playing it safe.

I am also sure that there are good third party batteries out there as well. Just a matter of discovering which models are the right ones, like those models being discussed in this thread... so thanks for sharing your findings. I am sure there will be many who will benefit from your findings.

Just beware. those so called "original" BLS-1 from Hong Kong or China sellers are all fakes. The original BLS-1 have not only the Olympus label but it's embossed with the word Olympus on the plastic casing.

I just went to MS Color to buy DiviPower OEM battery 3500mAh for $40. How come you can get it at $35 ? When I told them someone bought it here for $35, they said $35 got no warranty! and my $40 battery comes with one year warranty. How true is it???

I bought mine at AMK central, near the coffee shop. Mine definitely has warranty, they ask me to keep my receipt to use as proof of purchase should I need warranty claim.

Despite being a regular at his shop & buying so many camera & accessories from them, they still did not give me the best price! so disappointed with them!
