I bought some stuff from Yodobashi Japan a few years ago.

Just show your Singapore passport. They'll have a look at your passport to confirm that you're a tourist and the Japan consumption tax is waived.

There're signboard in Yodobashi informing you about it.

don't think they refund the consumption tax(5%). Never see any refund counters at airport or heard of anyone trying to claim refund. Hence, I think there is no refund.

I will be in Japan from Nov 22 onwards........
May try MAP Camera and Yodo while I'm there. Both give discounts for tourists.

Ok, I have verified the pricing I quoted and they are valid for members of that store. Membership is free. All you need to do is register on their website and then you can pre-order with the discounted prices.

Although you will need to read Japanese to use their website. That's the tough part for most people. My friend in Osaka will register and order my items for me.

i bought my entire e system, e1, F50, 8mm, 11-22mm, 50-200mm, battery grip...all from overseas, none from SG..

but all come with international warranty. and i had sent some to SG olympus service center for service.
