Dynax 9 vs 7

Dynax 7 doesn't have a AF lock (AF-L)function, as seen in Nikons and Dynax 5. Is Dynax 7's continuous AF mode supposed to be the equivalent?
In the advertisements, Dynax 7, together with Dynax 9 is supposed to have this feature call 'long eye relief'. What is this? How does it work?

Dynax 7 got that so-called AF lock. It's on the front of the camera, the dial at the bottom left hand corner. U can choose between single shot AF, continuous AF, or auto AF (which decides which mode to use) and another mode I cannot remember.
"Eye" Relief"?? Umm..... maybe it's ability to add a rubber eye-piece to the viewfinder lor....... although there is a protruding eye relief already on the camera..... but it doesn't stick out that much...... I think Dynax 7 also has diopter adjustments.......

hey guys, just wanna let you know that if you're willing to get a dynax 7 over the internet, u can get it much much cheaper than in singapore!
i got mine over EBay from the USA last year for SGD1100 or so... brand new...
but of cos must buy with trust lah... quite hard to part with so much money with a seller whom u dunno...

its true you can get Dynax 7 from overseas via internet at S$1100. I checked from B&H and S$1100 is a figure I derived after including shipping costs!
Of course, I decided to spend another $200 just to ensure I get my Dynax 7 in good condition, cos if some minor problem, like mirror, viewfinder some scratch, fungus or anything, must ship back or wait for Minolta Singapore to settle. It may sound like $200 wasted, but ai yah, just decided to play safe.
Anyway, I noticed there are a lot of newbies out there looking for film SLR to start their hobby. Instead of just letting everybody highlight the advantage of a Canon or Nikon, why not tell them there is an alternative via Minolta?
I'm not trying to sell for Minolta, since I don't earn any commission anyway, but just to allow newbies to know that the camera world as far as film SLR is concerned, is not just Canon and Nikon, but also Minolta, Pentax, Olympus....

yep i got the vc7... cheaper here in singapore... got at cathay at SGD240 (w/o gst i think... can't rem)...
eh must get it man... trust me... u will love it! :heart: :heart: :heart:
grip of camera improves tremendously + very very easy to take vertical photos (i realised i started taking more vertical photos after buying vc7)... of cos can use/store more batteries

U sure about the pricing? $240?? Hmm......... that's like $35 cheapr than I was quoted!

yep... i got an e-quotation from them (still have the e-mail)... but i rem when i went to cp, they quoted me another price!... i got quite pissed n told them that they quoted me a lower price thru e-mail... the lady said she will check and said that the $240 price was correct (dunno whether she geniunely made a mistake or not...)...

hi TME, yep the vertical grip really does make a diff... and of cos the pretty looks :heart: :heart:
Have almost decided to..... but I'm waiting for SAF to reactivate my NS allowance for this and next month, then I'll get it. Cos it's only $240 now and not $275..... that's a lot further away from $300........ kekeke...... psychological thing....... I also need to buy a new hard disk!
