How about John 3:16??

Hi deslim27,

Nope, I have never really considered a DSLR, not in the near future at least. Even if Minolta does finally release a DSLR, I will wait at least a year or two till it becomes more stable then decide. I'm an old skool guy, I'm still keeping my M42 screw mount lenses, haha!

Good for you.. at least no craving like me.. haaa

Can't remember exactly, but I've paid about $1100++ for the dynax 7 and another $200+ for the grip more than 2-3 years ago. I compared CP and John 3:16 price and 3:16 give me slightly better price, I ended up bought mine at.... CP! haa.

Try equotes first lor.... can judge the price from there....

Also can try 2nd hand if u dun mind, I got mine a $850... only 11 rolls on it... look around Clubsnap, some people are selling..... also look at HWZ or other local forum portals....

its cheaper to buy dynax 7 from B&H. However, if you want to get it locally, I got mine at CP. CP doesn't put D7 on display, but ask or e-quote them and you'll get the body. If getting it from MS, I'm afraid they'll have to order and you'll have to wait. You can try AP too.

AP like dun have also..... I asked some 2 months back I think....... or was it last month........ hmm......

B&H has almost everything you can wish for from Minolta. Hongkong and Japan has just about everything too, but unless you have friends from there, its a futile thought.

Back to topic, CP should have D7. They happily showed me the body when I asked for it, the 1st 2 times when I just wanted to have a feel of it and months later, when I decided to buy it.

Addy for B&H? Thanks!

Just thought it's good to ask here what's the best internet website to get Minolta stuffs? I hope it's somewhere near Singapore, the postal cost isn't exactly cheap from US. I was thinking if there is any website in Hong Kong, Malaysia or Taiwan that does Minolta stuffs.

Singapore is considered as the centre of Minolta equipment in Southeast Asia. From www.photographyreview.com comments, it seems even Minolta Australia will send their stuff to Minolta Singapore to fix more tricky problems! So, it may be more tricky to get mail order Minolta stuff from our neighbouring countries.

When ordering things from mail order, surely reliability is the most important thing. Unlike buying things from AP, CP, you can't check if your equipment is up to scratch. At least B&H (I don't earn commission from them but just because this is the only online shop I'm familiar with) and the other MAJOR US online stores (just check www.photographyreview.com for the other online stores), they have been serving the professional users all over the world and US, so personally I would take my chances with them. This doesn't mean their goods are 100% reliable, but at least its the best chance I've got. I've never got a mail order from them before, cos the only time I bought something from them, I've a friend in US who received it for me before bringing it back to Singapore during his visit back home. This saved a bit on postage, especially because I bought only a small item. However, the savings on postage is not significant if you are talking about a big ticket item, such as 80-200 G lens.

Personally, I don't mind spending a bit more for mail order so long as the product is good. Imagine how much heartache you'll have if you are disappointed with a mail order goods just to save $50 on a 1, 2 grand stuff.

Well, said.

Reliablity is important in mail order. I think it's all about time and cost. I mean if it's gonna cost more and it's gonna take the amount of time to wait, I would rather order from the dealer or from Minolta showroom. I was looking at the accessories for Minolta, it's quite hard to get from here. Like the Holding Strap HS-1, it's not available here. The cost of ordering from overseas, the postal already cost half of it! Not worth the effort.
