OIC, thanks for the reply! I always thought it measure 1.2V as printed on the batteries! Have anyone use it in cold places? Haven't tried using Ni-Mh, always using Lithium or Alkalines.

Lithiums work the best in cold places... it's the nature of the battery type... lithium batteries use lithium ions to generate electricity the which works a little differently from the conventional alkaline and Ni-MH batteries which generate electrons that drive the components across the circuit.

BTW, those of u using the VC-7 grip, do u find that the grip sometimes like creaking like that ?? I mean it does not actually make a sound but it moves a little when twisting the camera around with a heavy lens and u are gripping the vertical grip?? I a bit worried the screw thread that holds the 2 together will get spoiled.....

Hiee TME.....

I think the design is such that it will squesk alittle. IT is mechanically held in place by the metal screw against the sheet metal surface of the vertical grip.
I think that was why the DImage A1 went back to the usual "L" shape where there is a large part that goes into the battery compartment in the camera body.

The VC-7 uses a male/female mating connector while allow user to still keep the battery on the body.

So far no issue with the slight creep....

rgds,
me

hmm.. I've been using VC7 grip for quite sometime, never find any problem like this. What is the lens you are using?

Well, I'm not sure if I'm hyper sensitive... afterall to me it's a piece of very expensive equipment...

Anyway I dun see how sticking part of the grip into the battery compartment can help since the VC-7 already has something sticking into the Dynax 7 body. The battery compartment is also miniscule on account of the lithium CR-123 batteries being used...

Tamron 24-135 SP or Minolta 100-400 APO or Sigma 17-35 EX.... these are all pretty heavy....

Minolta 100-400 APO

Quite heavy indeed. But shouldn't break the screw, just watch out for the mount :D

The Sigma is not light either... the thread size 82mm..... while the Tamron is 76mm..... :D
