Anybody have any experience with this camera? Doesn't seem to be widely available, so where can I find it, and what's the RRP?

I tried searching for reviews on the internet, no go so far. Know of any sites that review this, and other 35mm SLRs?

Thanks!

This camera is a replacement for the Dynax 5. The Dynax 5 has superb reviews and its metering system is fantastic, best in its class. The Dynax 60 is just a newer version with some additional features. Of hand, some features are DOF preview, EV compenation, 5 scene modes + 3 memory, at least 20 custom functions, same 14 segment metering system as in higher end Minolta bodies (algo different though), wireless flash, high speed sync capable, built-in flash, very very fast AF..... cannot remember the rest liaoz....
I think u can do a comparo on Minolta's website to find out the difference between the 2. U should be able to get this camera at Alan Photo or Cathay Photo. It's an entry level SLR with entry level price but much higher speced..... it has better specs than most other brand SLRs of the same price range....

A most helpful response. Thanks! Will probably use it as a back-up SLR to my 7Hi, and then eventually the 7D...

another lovely feature that i read about from a photomag, it's similar to dynax 7 -- direct MF. it meant u can do minor adjustment through the focusing ring during AF, without switching the mode from AF to MF. it's useful for macro i think.

Hiee....
I tried it yesterday at Mustafa. Great sound of film advance. Feel wise....though it have metal top...but its alittle light to my taste.

Focus is fast too. Pop up flash would be the one to be used in 7D i think.......

U must set the custom function for that... and remember how to undo and do it again... it's quite obtuse.... I rather just use the AF to put the lens near perfect focus, then press the MF/AF switch and focus manually... but I'm using a Dynax 7, not sure if the Dynax 60 has the same thing or not.....

Hmm... I don't know about Dynax 60, but chanaging focus from AF to MF on Dynax 5 could be nightmarish at times! :(

Review for Dynax 60 (Maxxum 70)

AF - 4 Star
Metering - 4 Star
Feature - 5 Star
Ease of Use - 5 Star
Ergonomic - 5 Star
Value - 5 Star

Piangz.... the feature set is quite close to that of the Dynax 7 already manz..... looks like Minolta wants to change its film bodies' model numbers to 2 digits and the digital's to single digit?

Thanks for the link! I went down to the Minolta Service Centre/Showroom @ Funan Ctr again (ANOTHER good reason to go there! :D ) to check out the Dynax 60. Good feature set indeed, and I kinda like the fact that the built-in flash sits higher than most other SLRs. Very responsive, too. It's probably cheap because of the consumer-level build quality.

LOL! Too bad, my Dynax 7 and lenses are too reliable.. can't find excuse to go down..

Yes, higher built-in will helps to reduce red eye more and can use with bigger diameter lenses. How much in SGD? Any idea?
