Today when I went for my cousin wedding the rubber padding near the 4 way button fell off. Anyone facing this problem?

mine still perfectly intact....did u brush that part against something?

No. I suspect that it may be because i put it in a dry cabinet and the adhesive may have worn because of that.

My thumbpad's adhesive literally melted on a hot outdoor shoot. Going to send in for replacement.

what's ur dry cabinet humidity like? dun scared me leh...maybe go gaffer that part first:think:

same here mine is slowly coming off

Rh 40-50%. Check the part diagram for Dynax 5D the rubber is held by double side ahesive tape.

Mine dropped off too... Cant be sticked back using another double-sided tape... guess i just have to send it back to service centre.. (wonder if its convered under warranty).. or just live with it.. haha :bsmilie:

Mine did not drop off, more like got moved off position.

What I did was, cleared off all the double sided tapes on both the rubber and the camera. Then cut to size (almost) of the 3M Super Heavy Duty double sided tape (around 0.5mm in thickness), and it's now back in place although it's slightly thicker than it used to be. But it's fine for me. ;)

Will be interested to know if this is cover under warranty and how long for SONY to get it fixed. :dunno:

The one on my 5D's still okay but the same piece on my FZ10 came off.
I did the same thing you suggested but finally lost the piece whilst in action at Jln Besar Stadium. Still using the FZ10 without that piece, though.;)

Tried using doublesided tape. Can't seem to get the pad in completely in. This picture shows in red the rubber thumbpad and the blue is the ahesived tape used:

That's pretty extreme yah? My 7D also gets rather hot but so far no such experience thankfully... but then I dun get in so many shots as I dun shoot often...

Thanks...must watch out for it then ;)

mine slipped the first time i used it, noticed that there was leakage of the adhesive, thought maybe i was holding the camera too tightly. its ok now, although i suspect it slides a little once in a while. anyone tried something like superglue instead of ds-tape?

I'm using ahesived tape to hold it in place so far no problem. If you want to use ahesived tape my suggestion use 3M.
