Dynax 5 vertical grip

I'm not sure whether Minolta has vertical grip for dynax 5... any idea?

i feel that my dynax 5 and 5600HS is a bit underused... thinking of making full use of it... any advice on wat accessories to go with it? e.g. remote control? lens? i only have the two that came with the kit. :embrass:

i'm actually looking for lens for my dynax 5.. but actually got a few question to it...

1) Would a fixed focal length lens be more expensive than one which can zoom?
2) How do i know that a lens not produced by minolta can fit onto my dynax 5?

1) If you compare the longest zoom. 100-300mm f4.5-5.6 vesus 300mm f2.8 or 300mm f4.Fix focal length is more expensive.

2)When you buy 3rd party lens, they will tell you on the box for what camera system.if you are buying old 3rd party lens for minolta camera, beware.Some of them will not focus.apprently the chip in the lens do not support the new cameras. so i advise you bring your camera along to try if you wanna buy 2nd hand or old lens.

I would suggest you to get a wired remote control if you're into photography as hobby. It would minimize the shaking when come to night/lowlight and macro photography.

R u into portraits? you can get the off shoe cable with the cable ex. I'm using it for out door portraits. with my 5400 hs on my tripod, i can place the light on the left of my subject and use a reflector on the right to fill the face.

If you are in to macro and don't wanna invest in a ring flash, off shoe cable is also uesful.with off shoe cable, you can place your flash anywhere you want...

Got a question for you. Can I use 2 5600HS both in wireless TTL mode, and built-in flash as the controller? Do you think the setup can achieve proper exposure?

Are you using digital camera? I've never try that before.what I've try is one flash only.the built in flash will trigger the off camera flash with TTL metering wirelessly. You can attach up to 3 flash with the triple connector and get TTL but there must be a cable fix to the camera.

It's a cable which connects to the camera hotshoe at one end and the other end connects to the flash...fully TTL ....but you cannot view the distance coverage on your flash data panel.5600 HS(D) and 5400 HS.

I would like to add... I have a sigma lens (28-70/2.8), it fogs when I go from air-con to open air, my other minolta lenses have no such issues. Wonder if any other 3rd party lens like that also.

Something is wrong with the lens... it should not fog at all..... I've had no problems even at 10 degrees and then stepping into a heated room.... no fogging.....

No u can't! But u can use two or more flashes wirelessly..... just buy the wireless flash controller... it attaches to the hotshoe and then u just set up your flashes and u can trigger them with TTL I think.......

according to the manual, you can use 2 5600 HS(D) flashes on wireless (both camera and flash manuals said that).

Nope, I'm a Dynax 7 user. I use wireless flash occasionally with my 5600HS.
Wire is too messy and troublesome for me since I usually work in my tiny little home. I think Nikon new DSLR D2H can handle up to 3 flash.. hope Minolta can do something about it for the upcoming DLSR (if any).
