Dynax 5 battery consumption...

I'm not sure if its just me or the camera is just supposed to work this way. Using either the battery grip or the small puny battery, I can only get about 4-5 rolls before the battery warning flashes, and about the 9th-10th roll the camera will shut down. Totally. Could it be because of the lenses? Like the old 70-200/4? With the kit lenses I remember it could go for much longer!

U are using a huge lens for a puny motor.... of course will kill the battery lar.... what's the weight of the lens? I use a 24-135mm lens which weighs like 600g can shoot on the Dynax 505si for like 20+ rolls, no problem....

I think it also depends on your usage. I always set to 'continuous focusing', and press the shutter half way, just to wait for the precise moment to shoot. Just can't keep my son still.. haaa

Hello Alvin, the 70-210 front element is a heavy piece of glass, remember when i show you the 24-85 lens? the drive from infinity to minimum focusing distance is shorter, the drive for 70-210 is very long. when you are in a dim light condition, the lens will go to one end then go back to the focus distance. that's why some lens takes more power to drive them.
