Yes, I got the model CHC-S9045, paid S$2889 before GST in 2005.
Don’t think there is Matt print or could be mine is an old model. You check and let us know.
For S9045, paper comes in 500 sheets per roll for 4R paper. Unit cost per 4R is approximately 32 cents if purchase in bulk. My previous purchase was quite sometime ago. I do not have the latest quote off hand.
How much you are quoted for the paper?
S9045 produces consistent and nice color. In my opinion, image quality is equal if not better than older Fuji frontier. Unsure about the new Fuji frontier though. Can’t compare with CP400, they are apple and orange.
If you wish to compare the photo output between S2145 and S9045, I am most willing to assist you to do a benchmark on S9045. Let me know.
By the way, the weight of S2145 doubles that of S9045. Paper consumables are incompatible between the 2 models.
Shinko’s paper and ink film are code protected. The key code is like a credit card which must be inserted to the printer for it to function properly. This key code is packaged together with every roll of paper/ink film. Printer may not work if paper is purchased from other OEMs, though it may look identical. I was told it has area code identification (likes DVD?). Again, I’m unsure as I got supplies from a single source so far. You be aware. Do find out more from your supplier.
